Chapter 1 - Player
Another night of party, lots of drinking and fun. It was something increasingly common in our lives because of the band and growing popularity, and I was worshiping, I will not deny. What boy never dreamed about it? Even more achieve this life next to friends. — Look who we have here! - James, our longtime friend said while approaching. — I thought you had forgotten the old friend... — He joked while he laughes. — Impossible. — I said and soon Jack accompanied me. — How could we forget our friend who put us in the biggest troubles back in school? — James looked offended but soon began to laugh. — Guilty! — He raised his hands. — Everyone needs stories and we have some good ones to tell. — He made a sign to the waiter and soon we all had glasses of drink, watching his big party. It didn't look that we were in an apartment. After some time there, drinking and talking, my eyes turned to the door. A beautiful girl entered wearing a black leather skirt with a laced wine top and high heels of the same color, using silver jewelry shining. — Close your mouth. - Zach commented while he laughed being accompanied by the others. — You will end up swallowing a fly. — Who is she? — Corbyn questioned. — We are friends James, we should know her. — She's probably new. — Daniel added. I kept my eyes on her and I'm sure she realized. Our looks crossed while she smiled on the corner of her mouth. Her attention went back to James who had just approached her. They laughed while greeted and he turned her around, showing her look. If I was lucky enough, they'd have nothing with each other. — Will Jonah boy get the girl or not? — Jack questioned while gave me a slightly poke. — And when didn't I get? - I smiled cockish but everybody knew it was the purest truth. — She seems tough. — Corbyn said. — You know he likes a challenge. He's a player. — Zach laughed. — Zach knows me better than you, Corbyn. — I really like challenges. They intrigue me and keep me interested until I get what I want. That's the way the world works. My eyes followed her into the kitchen and I bit my lower lip. Time to make my move. Definitely won't sleep alone tonight. — I need more vodka. — I smiled for them and they laughed, knowing the real reason I left that couch. I walked across the room to she go where she was and I saw her taking a bottle of vodka, ready to be serve if she could open it — Do you need some help? — I smiled, catching her attention — Actually, I don't. — She turned her attention back to the bottle, ignoring me completely. This would be difficult, Corbyn was right. No one me ignores. — You're not used to "no", are you? — She laughed, mocking me while filling her glass with the liquid. I laughed and approached my glass, so she could complete it for me. — You got me, I must admit. — She smiled after hearing me. — It's good to be different. — She said already moving away from me, leaving me alone in the kitchen. She's really something else. I took a sip in my drink and decided to return to the room where I was with my friends before. — Do you have her number already? - Zach questioned me, looking eager for the reply. - I didn't. She literally left me static in the kitchen while mocking me. — I commented frustrated as they laughed. — I told you that this one would be difficult. — Corbyn added when I sat on the couch, looking far as I drank. In the middle of the party, I noticed Daniel talking with my girl. They laughed, seemed to be having fun. For a moment I was jealous but I knew he wouldn't stab me. This is not like him. He came back to us with her by his side. — Boys, this is the [y/n]. [Y/n], these are Zach, Corbyn, Jack and Jonah. — He smiled, winking for me. — It is a pleasure to know you all. Except Jonah. — For a moment I swallowed dry. How it was not a pleasure knowing me? — 'Cause I already met him in the kitchen. — She smiled having fun, making the others laugh. Once again, she got me. [Y/n] 2, Jonah 0. — How did we never meet you before? — Jack asked. — We are friends with James for years and he never talked about you. — Corbyn completed. — Oh, I met him a few weeks ago. I'm his new neighbour. — She answered and bit her plastic cup at hand, leaving it marked with her teeth. — Everything makes sense now? — I'm sorry for you having him as your neighbour. — It was Zach's time to joke, making all of us laugh. — He can be a bit noisy. — Daniel stroked his hair and she smiled at him. — Not a problem if I am noisier. — She laughed. — If you thought I was noisy, it is because you didn't know her. — James smiled as he approached. — She hears music really loud on saturdays mornings. — Cleaning day. — She interrupted him. — And sundays as well. — Pancakes for breakfast day. — She giggled. — What is wrong with it? — None if you call me to eat the pancakes. — He laughed with her. — I'd like having pancakes for breakfast as well. — Jack raised his hand and smiled. — Me too! — Zach and Daniel answered together and she looked in my direction, waiting for me to say something. — I wouldn't mind having pancakes for breakfast. — I said smirking and she smiled. — It seems like I'll have to do a lot of pancakes. — She laughed while the boys celebrated and I took a sip of my drink, without taking my eyes off of her. I could see sparks in her eyes like in mine. It's mutual but why she doesn't give in? The both of us could take advantage of the moment if she allowed. I bet she wouldn't regret. I need to be alone with her and start my game, I can't let her continue winning. After some time talking, she decided that needed smoking so she went to the rooftop. I'd go her right after her but I didn't want to look desperate. — What is this girl's problem? — I questioned James and the other laughed. — Jonah does not accept that she rejected him. — Zach commented, laughing with others. — My beloved friend, your mistake is thinking that she is like the others. — James put his arm on my shoulder. — She doesn't care about who you are or if you are handsome and famous. But I know that she doesn't like guys of your type. — I frowned. What "my type" means? — Guys who like the challenge so they can display the trophy and then disappear. — Jonah, she doesn't like idiots, you're screwed. — Corbyn said, laughing and Jack continued. — How is it being rejected for the first time? — She didn't reject me, ok? She just didn't let me help her. — I don't think you should insist knowing that, Jonah. She looks really nice. — Daniel commented. He was the most kind of us for sure. — Danny boy is already taking care of her and barely knows [y/n]. — Zach said smiling. — Always compassionate. — I just think it's time for Jonah realizing that they have feelings and they can get hurt with all this little game of his. — I'll think about. Now I'll go after her. — I said already leaving them to go to the rooftop.
