zoe’s tired, yet thrilled. this is the last row of exams before graduating, and it shows in the way the light of their eyes is dimmed by dark circles. they’re tired, so tired. yet, brian’s presence makes it better. at least they don’t suffer alone. he enters their dorm, to spot the brunette wrapped up into bed with a bunch of books, notebooks and papers around them, a small smile on their face at the sight of him. “don’t laugh.” they’re so tired.

          ❝  you  can  say  you  hate  me  ,  i  don’t  care.  ‘cause  i  know  you  do.  ❞  she  stares  out  the  window  as  she  speaks  ,  paying  no  real  attention  to  the  girl  she  knows  is  in  the  room.  it’s  been  no  secret  that  there’s  animosity  between  jenna  and  jo  ,  but  they  usually  both  keep  to  themselves.  now  ,  with  jenna  in  her  hotel  room  ,  jo  feels  the  need  to  at  least  say  something  to  avoid  the  awkward  silence  that’s  attempting  to  fill  the  room.

          ❝  who  are  you  to  talk  about  love  ?  you  never  loved  me  ,  just  the  shit  you  put  in  your  body.  ❞  she’s  close  to  him  ,  face  a  mere  two  inches  away  ,  voice  as  soft  as  honey  but  eyes  as  cold  as  ice  as  she  stares  at  him.  she  knows  this  has  been  coming  on  for  a  minute  ,  knows  peaches  has  been  growing  tired  of  their  little  game  but  this  isn’t  a  game  she’s  been  playing  alone  ,  as  much  as  he  doesn’t  seem  to  realize  it.  ❝  maybe  i  don’t  know  how  to  love  ,  but  isn’t  that  so  much  better  than  loving  only  one  thing  ?  one  thing  that  ,  in  the  end  ,  will  just  drive  everyone  away  ?  ❞

          it  feels  like  any  other  morning  ,  on  any  other  day  ,  during  any  other  week.  that’s  just  how  it  is.  business  is  business  ,  no  matter  how  long  it  takes.  whether  or  not  the  other  can  accept  that  ?  well  ,  frankie  can’t  really  figure  out  if  that’s  his  problem  or  not.  he  leans  against  the  counter  ,  legs  crossed  at  the  ankles  as  he  sips  his  coffee.  ❝  y’know  after  we  done  ,  i  gotta  roll.  ❞
