Bring together the flavors of a taco and the excitement of cake pops! These cute taco cake pops are ideal as a whimsical treat or for celebrations and parties. They are popular with both children and adults because of the inventive decoration that transforms the chocolate cake basewhich is covered in chocolate candyinto tiny tacos.
Ingredients: 1 box chocolate cake mix. 1 cup frosting chocolate or vanilla. 1 package chocolate candy coating. 1/2 cup crushed pretzels. 1/4 cup colored sprinkles. 1/4 cup shredded coconut optional. 1/4 cup red and yellow candy melts. 1/4 cup green candy melts.
Instructions: As directed on the package, bake the chocolate cake and allow it to cool completely. After the cake cools, crumble it into a big bowl. After adding the frosting, thoroughly mix it into the crumbled cake. Form the mixture into tiny taco-shaped balls and arrange them on a baking sheet that has been lined. Once the chocolate candy coating has melted, thoroughly coat each cake ball by dipping it into the coating. Allow any extra coating to fall off. Crushed pretzels can be used to simulate taco shells before the coating hardens. Garnish with colored sprinkles for extra flair. Melt green candy melts for the lettuce and drizzle them over the taco cake pops. Melt the red and yellow candy melts and use them to top the taco cake pops with cheese and tomatoes. If desired, replace the shredded lettuce with shredded coconut sprinkled on top. To ensure that the coating solidifies completely, store the completed taco cake pops in the refrigerator. For easier handling, after the cake pops have set, place lollipops inside of them. These Taco Cake Pops are delicious served and enjoyed!
