Up Above and Down Below
There is something powerful in standing alone at the top of the highest peak and watching the sunrise. There is also a sense of size and matter in reference to the rest of the world. Looking down below the rolling clouds is small towns with everyday people and you're reminded that you are just one person. Then you remember that you are one person who just took on the mountain the day before. It's a funny feeling balancing the notions out but a fantastic one with and even more fantastic view
Preparing to hike tomorrow. One day, five summits, the two highest points in CT, and a point where we'll be in NY, MA, and CT, at the same time. So fucking stoked. Ending the year with an epic adventure!
I'm going to climb a mountain this weekend. A bunch, actually. Including the highest point in CT. Stoked.
