Nanam on Hurstmere Rd on the North Shore has a new set of wall murals. Created by famed mural artist Askew One last week, the murals on the south wall of Nanam depicts the preparation of Filipino food. Using the previous textures on the mural wall, it has taken the artist 2 days to create. Co-owner and chef Jess Granada is justifiably proud of it. Former colleague SW Espley and Uncle shared a variety of dishes: • a pica-pica of Ensayinada, a Filipino brioche with salted egg butter, aged cheddar cheese & shaved macadam Have a very happy and wonderful birthday, ia. I have to disagree with the review in the latest Cuisine. The reviewer just didn't rate it but I do. It challenges the norm of what a brioche should be and should not be judged on western precepts. I'd gladly have an ensayinada or three. • Taco Bao, Nanam’s beetroot bao with sticky pork belly (humba) + condiments. • Ensaladang Talong, smoked eggplant, cherry tomato, mixed herbs on brown rice crackers. • Binalot, Ora King salmon in grilled banana leaf parcel, with fennel & fermented baked beans, Pernod butter, banana heart & walnut salad. • Inihaw, grilled yellow finned tuna, with citrus and fennel salad, fermented Sichuan & ginger marinade. #picapica #ensayinada #filipinobrioche #tacopao #ensaladangtalong #smokedeggplant #binalot #orakingsalmon #inihaw #grilledtuna #instafilipinofood (at Nanam)
