Chuang Asia 2 : My Opinion no one asked for (Part 5)
Disclamers : No hate to any of them I hope they all succed in their project but I'm human I've got preferences. And I don't know any of them personnally obviously so any and all character judging is solely based on what can be seeing in the show. It's my opinion, not solely based on objective criterias.
My personnal ranking of perfomance of the second public stage (Ep. 7 and 8)
1.When we disco : They got an amazing team to start with. They got the vibe of the song perfectly, amazing dance skills and great synchronisation (The8 would be proud). Plus they look like they're having a ton of fun on stage, Dorn look so passionate when he is dancing it is very attractive, Xiong really opened up and it suits him very well, Ninja fits the vibe of the song so naturally, it's my favorite perfomance of Peanut so far and Dongdong also really shined. Loved it perfect.
2. Python : Tadalee !! Shen ! (They're two of my favorites trainee) They were amazing. I think it was smart of them to really change the choreaography since Python is a pretty recent song and everyone still has the Got7 version in mind. Also I know it was not the point of this stage but their vocals they slayed at recording (especially Tadalee) I'm no expert but the song seems quite difficult. It stuck a little bit less with me than Disco but still great.
3. I dream : It's my style of perfomance, amazing vocals on a soulful melody its what I like so obviously I really enjoyed the performance. Tia Ray clearly elevated the whole song not only by her vocal but also by her mentoring. We already knew Kohi was a great vocalist but everyone was great. Bianura hits those notes very nicely amazing he made such progress. And obviously Shoya was great I'm so glad he got the MVP.
4. No Way : It a good song especially since it was made in such a short time, the concept is interesting, the vocals are great (with Thi-o Yuchen and Lucas the opposite would be surprising) and I think the rapping is some of the best of Chuang asia (props to Yetao and Zihao) also the cello is my favorite instrument so I'm always happy to hear and see it. But I feel like the team alchemy was not the best and the performance did not stand out to me that much. I think they won mainly cause their members are for the most very high ranking (they're all top 10 except WhyLucas).
5.Mic Drop : I loved the energy Koishin and Lyu had for the whole preparation and performance and Koishin attention to detail when it comes to dancing is amazing. But the performance overall lack a bit of power.
6. Crush : It's not really a concept that I enjoyed. The vocal where nice but they weren't mind-blowing. All of them did not embodied the concept of the song to the same level Myst was perfectly in it when Alton Ang seems to struggle to express emotions on stage.
7. Last fireworks of the summer : The first time I heard it I though it was the best perfomance so far (It was before When we disco) on a purely technical aspect but my brain erased it so fast and it did not made me feel a lot when it was suposed to.
