Aerith & Tifa

Aerith and Tifa could so easily have been written as rivals. Tifa is Cloud’s childhood friend with years of history and complicated feelings, Aerith is the bright, strange flower girl he meets in Midgar who changes the whole emotional direction of the story. The obvious lazy version would be two women quietly competing over Cloud forever. Instead, especially in Remake, they actually click. Aerith teases Tifa, Tifa worries about Aerith, they look after each other, they fight together, and their friendship feels warm almost immediately. 

Their personalities balance beautifully - Aerith is playful and forward and weird in a way that pulls people out of themselves, while Tifa is grounded, protective, emotionally careful, and quietly very strong. You can see exactly why Aerith would make Tifa feel lighter, and why Tifa would make Aerith feel safe without smothering her.

Also, sorry, but Aerith and Tifa choosing each other would’ve ended decades of shipping wars in the most iconic possible way. Cloud can go deal with his identity crisis. The girls have chemistry.

They had INCREDIBLE banter and had clearly had feelings for each other but there was no official relationship/explicitly romantic scene

This is probably very niche fancasting but hear me out...

Oscar Isaac as Tadius from Cinderella's Castle

I know this is very unlikely to happen, but I think Oscar could be a pretty great Tadius. He has the curly hair and the amazing beard. He has an incredible singing voice and can do a pretty good British accent. I have been thinking about this ever since I started watching Mortius' reaction to the musical. Idk why his reaction series made my brain come up with that idea, but its a nice surprise regardless.
