OUTSIDE OF SECOND CHANCES - AFTERNOON
@legallytaemin
She'd been going out a lot lately, and although Sara was proud of herself for that, it always came with repercussions for her body: more pain, and more time stuck in bed recovering from the pain. Today, like the past two days, was meant to be another recovery day. The same pajamas for three straight days in a row, no showering, no proper attention to her hair. She was lucky to have brushed her teeth once a day during these periods. Rest, for her, meant bed-rotting, meant UberEats delivery, meant having to keep on top of her painkillers.
But by the third day of being at home she felt a little stir crazy. Bored. She finally took a shower, and - stupid, she was stupid - it sucked the energy out of her. Made her sit in her shower chair long after the water stopped running, just trying to get her bearings back. With the steam clearing out of the bathroom, and her body aided by the chair, she eventually (thankfully) started to get back to her baseline again. She took it easy at home for another couple of hours; taking her time getting dressed, brushing her teeth, fixing her hair, doing all the things a normal person would do, and then she decided on venturing out into the world. Even with all that, it was a t-shirt and sweatpants kind of day. Low effort. Something that didn't cling and prick at her body too much. Self care.
Antiquing was also self care. At least, it was for Sara. Any excuse to buy something old and pretty, or find inspiration or materials for her work! There was a placed called Second Chances (aptly named, if you asked her) that she'd been wanting to check out since she'd arrived in Blackstone Ridge, and today was finally the day!
Despite the events of the morning, she'd been in good spirits. Was feeling good, better - until someone pulled into the parking spot she'd been waiting for. She'd been sitting on the opposite of the road, turn signal on and waiting for safe passage, and then someone in the lane closest to the antique store stole it right out from under her! Sara beeped her horn in pure frustration. Fucking come on! Couldn't the universe give her this one? This one thing, please?
Sara glared at the man when he hopped out of his parked car, seemingly (or acting) oblivious. She grunted under her breath and drove a little further down the road, a line of traffic piling up behind her. Eventually she found a spot, but it made the walk to the store longer than what she ideally wanted to put herself through. Annoying. And the man was the first thing she saw upon entering the antique store. "Hey. Hey!" Sara called out, anger driving her to walk up and confront him. "You totally stole my car spot, dude. Not cool."
