At four years old, Tae's life got flipped upside down in so many ways, his whole family uprooted from Dallas and transported across the States to a little town in Maine, called Merrock. He didn’t really understand what was going on, still trying to process the loss of his father mere months ago, so he said nothing and quietly went along with whatever his mother thought right. His years growing up were pretty uneventful, he spent most of his time with his siblings and he kept a low profile up until high school. For years he was the weird kid who avoided everyone, who didn’t seem to want to even make the effort to fit in.

But high school was when things changed, he became one of the popular kids, he excelled in everything he put his mind to, especially when it came to music. He loved to play the acoustic guitar and in the end, it was that, that became his thing. He formed a band shortly afterward. Well, he formed numerous bands over the years. It was in his senior year that any of them actually got anywhere, though, playing gigs around the city and finishing off the year by playing at prom.

At eighteen and a month or so after graduating, that was when everything began to fall apart. He'd already made the decision to move to New York for college, getting accepted at NYU. The band split up. (Of course it did.) But he also split up with his high school sweetheart. They'd been together for almost three years at that point, had talked about life going forward after high school, even discussed the possibility of getting engaged before they both moved away. It didn't work, though, it was never going to work. The crashing realisation came a semester into college. She stopped visiting, always had an excuse, she would put him off when he had weekends planned to travel and see her. Texts became infrequent and calls stopped altogether. She just disappeared from his life.

So he got on with things. He forgot about her completely and threw himself into his studies and living a new life in the city for a couple of years.He returned to Merrock after three years.

Flings and so-called relationships there have been many, real loves there were few. Bands, there were a couple, and in the end only one that stuck and began to make a name for itself somewhat. Cosmic Riot. It's still a work in progress, though. He now has a place out on the coast with a couple of housemates and a cat called Midnight Rain, who he dotes upon completely. He works as a host at Sandcastles during the week, enjoying the chance to chat to the clientele, and then plays gigs on the weekends with his band when they can get the job. It works for now, he makes it work anyway.
