Digging through the Pacific rim here on Tumblr like raccoon through trash because I am more than a decade late to the fandom. There's still some active surprisingly but it's also mostly those scientist duo I'm seeing. I get it but I'm not as captivated about them as I am the main characters: Raleigh, mako, chuck, etc. Found family, hope and grief intertwined, people resigned to their possible fate and yet, still willing to fight.
I didn't expect to like this story this much. So many possibilities, the terrible political situation because I don't believe all was well and such after the pitfall operation, the thing called the public, the whole celebrity thing, I don't think everyone entirely likes the whole Jaeger program (case in point, those politicians), you can't please everyone after all, the aftermath of being the survivors, there's victory yes, but also great loss now that it's all over. You can't deny the existence of people like that guy that runs the black market thing too, people who made a living off of the whole Jaeger and Kaiju thing whatnot. Also, the reality that humanity, if not untied against a common enemy, start targeting each other. Wait, it's getting a bit too pessimistic, but I do like exploring complexities in stories.
