To be honest I'm kind of glad these ponies' owner didn't want any UV treatments because treating TaF ponies like Night Glider can be a pain in the rear. If you get any 40Vol on the paint, it can suck the color right out of said paint.
It’s My Little Monday! With...Twice As Fancy Bonnie Bonnets! Here’s an often overlooked character, it’s Bonnie Bonnets from the 2nd (and more uncommon) set of TAF ponies. While characters like Night Glider stand out and others like Munchy are very costly, Bonnie here waits shyly in the background for someone to discover her old fashion charm. She is unusual pretty much all around, first off for having 2 names that appear as first and last rather than something like “Tutti Fruity’ or ‘Party Time’ where it’s obviously 1 concept. Then, look at her unusual body color. What is it? It’s sort of pinkish? No other pony even has nearly this color. It’s just so unusual. Her symbol is a nice variety of summer hats and (probably the beige ones) straw hats with ribbons and flowers. The little flower on her face is such a cute touch. Her white curls, quaint hats, and body color combo (look at the cornflower blue eyes too) all combine to have her be very vintage / garden / farm aesthetic somehow. Her story has her walking through a rose garden to find a rose for her hair. When she finds one, she uses ‘magic blinking’ to turn the flower into a bonnet made of petals that she can wear any time she wants. In this case “a bonnet” refers to a more general type of hat, not just the traditional when you think of it ‘baby bonnet’, so she is not going around dressed as a baby, it is an old fashion term. “Magic Blinking”--this term appears a lot in G1 back cards, where someone will blink their eyes in a magical way and make something happen. I have no idea why this obscure gesture was such a huge ‘make things happen’ crutch, but here it goes again whether it makes sense or not. Why would you not make a story for her where “Bonnie Bonnets loves making hats and decorating them with flowers! She’s shy and generous, weaving magical ribbons and roses to create the prettiest hats in Dream Valley. She always can find the perfect hat to compliment her friends’ favorite fashions. Everyone trusts Bonnie Bonnets to help them with beautiful accessories”. It still has magic, actually involves her symbol & tells you about her too, all with 4 sentances that fit on a package. But, it is not I that writes a back-card story. By virtue of being unusual... Bonnie Bonnets is certainly one to try and collect. She is rarely for sale though, however when you find her she should not be too costly. A pony who is quaint in a charming, old-fashion way...she really demonstrates the interesting range of G1.
I just finished listing 21 new ponies in the store and more will be coming soon! You can find them for sale at newgraymare.com/shop
As soon as I came home from vacation, I decided to clean the ponies I bought while I was out of town. I might need another vacation...
•I got a twice as fancy yesterday! I adore Dancing Butterflies ♡♡♡
Here's to more ponies ( if space allows!) In 2025! I'm on the mid-way point of my ideal collection and I can't wait!
TaF Dancing Butterflies came out just fine.
I don't know if you can see it, but my phone is changing the lighting between the before and after photos again. I'm not really sure how to get it to NOT do that, but that's only because I don't understand how to use cameras. Camera controls are all numbers and I have to admit that numbers mean nothing to me.
TaF Sugarberry is one of my favorite ponies to have ever been released and was the first MLP I sought out as an adult collector.
Of course, this is someone else's Sugarberry.
