Cefn Coed Viaduct
The third largest in Wales, Cefn Coed Viaduct was built to carry the Brecon & Merthyr Railway over the River Taff near Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales. Designed by Alexander Sutherland and Henry Conybeare, it consists of fifteen arches, each one with a span of almost forty feet, and is 257 yards long with a maximum height of 115 feet. A crisp, cold morning along the river trail
Helluva fog coming off the river this morning! Possibly not the best day to choose to walk the river trail before dawn
The castle and gorsedd stones look rather beautifully spooky in that last shot, though
(’what castle?’ I hear you say. Can’t you see it? It’s there, hiding in the fog...)
