You know how a lot of people think that, as he used to dream when he was a child (as said in A Letter from Norman), Norman would be absolutely overjoyed to see Emma in a dress when they grow up.

I like to think, instead, that seeing Emma in a dress was just a childish fantasy he soon lost when growing up. About what he feels now, Norman has long realized that there's no need to put Emma in a dress to make her look beautiful. Whatevers she wears, as long as she's happy and comfortable, she'll always look the most stunning to him.

I know that people really like the trope of “tomboy girl being embarrassed of displaying the more feminine side of her personality, but deep down liking it and yearning to do more girl-like things”- and I mean it's cool! Every trope that includes women being comfortable and learning to love themselves is beautiful and perfect. But in this case, that's not my personal headcanon for Emma? She seems to me like somebody who would feel very restrained by dresses, and wouldn't like to wear them on most occasions. I don't think Emma would try to be more feminine because I believe she's actually fine with who she is; she never had a long-suppressed feminine side of her personality, and she's totally fine with what she wears, how she acts, and overall with her tomboy nature. I don't know, maybe it's just nice to think about female characters who, instead of feeling unfit for a male-imposed standard, are just comfortable with themselves with no ambiguousness. I just don't think it's something Emma would do, and it often feels to me like it's something really forced. Emma has never shown any interest for girl like things; lots girls don't like that stuff, and there's nothing deep about it– they just don't.

So please– let's fight the habit of forcing femininity into girls? Some of them just don't want to look feminine, and try on make up, and wear pretty dresses. Just accept the thing and move on.

And yeah sorry for the ramble! I just really really had to take this off of my chest because I've seen /so/ much content of Norman being all lovey-dovey on Emma in a dress when they grow up and ugh... It honestly makes me cringe quite a lot. I believe Norman would love Emma no matter what she wears, as long as she's happy.

And also why would you put Emma in a dress she would most likely dislike when you can image her in a suit / tuxedo / smoking like people open your eyes

Just think about it. Tsundere, emo, mocking, intelligent, reliable, pretty much pyromatic dude who grows to be very fond and loyal to their loud, exaggeratedly positive, determinated, stubborn, unyielding, surprisingly strong, low-key dumb counterpart?

Norman could be a quieter Aina? Gilda is Heris (the two have similar shy-yet-determined personalities, and basically the same character design with different hair colour)

Barbara is Lucia. Vincent is Remi. Cislo is Varys?

And Isabella would make a terrifying Kray! With her past of pretended sympathy towards Emma! With her good motherly facade and soft smile! She's perfect!
