Fiat Mug of Tea Promotional Mailer with USB Stick, designed by TAG
To round off our posts before Christmas we thought we would end on a blog about one of the most interesting and unusual projects that we have worked on this year.
Back in July 2011 we worked on a job for Fiat, aimed at fleet car buyers and designed by TAG UK. The promotion consisted of a ceramic tea mug with the Fiat logo on the side and a USB stick designed to mimic the colour and shape of a bourbon biscuit stuck into what looked like a cup of tea. The USB stick contained an amusing video as well as information on the Fiat van range.
For this job we had to die cut four pieces of foam with slots to take the USB stick then carefully fix them into the mugs before hand painting the top of each piece of foam individually to the colour of a cup of tea (2 coats and a gloss varnish). Then the 'bourbon biscuit' was inserted into the foam so that it appeared to be sitting in the tea. The mug was then placed into a polystyrene box with an outer printed sleeve and then into a corrugated mailing carton (and then in the post).
The colour of tea (in case anyone wants to know) is Dulux emulsion Soft Almond 1(from the mixing station at B&Q).
