A TERRIFYING GREETING – is probably an accurate descriptor of what you give your old acquaintance. You didn’t mean to, really! You were just terribly excited to see him again. After all, it had been months since your most untimely demise, and the scenery had changed ever so much. Not that you minded the extra scenery, of course. It was all so lush, and delicious, and bright! And really, you could get used to traversing rivers at top speeds. It’s fun!
The place you are in now, you have been told, is called Xalphina. You have to swim a little bit slower here, because the streams aren’t exactly accommodating to your size. But when you see the familiar shape of his horns you speed up, and propel yourself out of the water at the highest speed you can muster. It’s quite silly, really. He’s not moving very fast at all. Still. You transform your merman tail into legs midair, having a few days to figure that little trick out, and slam down a few feet away from him with a toothy grin.
“Sir Tagora! Is that you!? Oh, it is! I thought I would never see you again!” – You talk to him as if you are old friends. You really see no reason to treat him any differently. “I see this fantastical new world is treating you well! I just love what you’ve done with your ears!”
They’re so cute! Your logic is that he chose to make them look that way. After all, you’ve chosen to give yourself legs, haven’t you? You plop yourself down, cross legged, very much expecting him to have the time to chat. The gills at your neck flutter as you speak.
“How have you been faring? It’s been quite some time since we spoke last.”
