a Thing I Have Done, however, is Install Spacemacs (it’s a text editor. I think it’s emacs with vim keybindings, or something like that. please don’t ask me; I know nothing). I did that Entirely for org-mode (lets you Organise things; also make to-dos and agendas and such), even though I don’t (yet) know how to use it.
so far I’ve been transferring some of my lists from google docs to emacs. I think I’ll keep the gdocs lists, because I can access them from other devices, but the TODO thingy in spacemacs is Objectively Better.
unfortunately, it’s weirdly hard to find tutorials for spacemacs rather than emacs; really I should sit down and work out how to do all the emacs commands in spacemacs rather than emacs. and then I can actually use the bloody thing for a daily to-do list, plus probably some running-project lists, like I’d planned to...
anyway, I managed to install a layer to put a nyan cat on my screen, so all’s well and good there :D
