No sleep ‘till Brooklyn!

I say that alot about my youngest daughter Ellie.  She has difficulty sleeping in a way that my oldest never did (but as a toddler, now seems to?)  But last night was particularly bad.  I was up with her from 3:30 until 5:30 (teeth maybe?) and then Scarlett was up at 7...for no reason!  She is never up that early.  I think that they are going for the tag team title.  So I called the nanny to see if she wanted to come hang out with them so I could get a nap.  I feel the need to justify this and I shouldn’t.  This works for us and should be the end of the story.  However, I am a stay at home mom with a part time nanny and that raises eyebrows...mostly from my mom.  

My husband works.  He has a very demanding job that takes alot out of him.   He isn’t the dad who will give the kids baths at night or run to the grocery store.  He will never get up early so I can catch up on sleep during the weekend.  He just wont.  I dont think that he can.  I dont know that he has that to give.  He will play with the girls while I get stuff done and help with bedtime.  But when it comes to his getting overwhelmed, it happens easily and it is always outwardly directed and it isn’t good for the girls, my marriage or him.  

I have spent alot of time focusing on how unfair this is.  This is the marriage that I have though, and I am working with it.  So we have a nanny come in some of the time so I can go to the grocery store, or the doctors without two babies.  Also it saves my sanity a bit.
