“oh. oh wow you are short.” (I’m 5′3 standing up ramrod straight.)

I smile a lot and I’ve got a little cheek dimple. I also think my teeth are really cute. 

I’ve actually been voted “best hugs” in my department two years in a row and have been told that I’ve got an amazing handshake. It’s firm- I don’t believe in the limp fish.

I’m kinda shy but once I warm up I’m really... tactile, I guess is the word? Like, I like to touch people on the arm or the shoulder. If we’re friends, I’ll play with your hair or gently scratch your back if you’re down for it. If we’re really good friends, I’ll kiss you goodbye on the cheek because I really, really like platonic kisses.

I will start talking to you about cryptids. I actually made one of my best friends by knowing the difference between a wolpertinger and a jackalope. 

At some point, I will foist upon you a book and tea. I like to make recommendations. In generally, I like to recommend experiences, tastes, and other things that I’ve done and enjoyed- not because I think I have some kind of impeccable taste, but because it’s like sharing a piece of a memory.

I like oversized sweaters and sensible work dresses. 

I have at least one mug of tea on me at all times. Sometimes multiple.

I play a lot of instruments. I’ve dabbled in a lot of weird woodwinds, but I can say that I play the flute, tuba, piano, upright bass, bagpipes, tenor recorder (I was in a mandolin/recorder quartet for a while), and the theremin reasonably well. 

There’s a six foot horse skeleton in my living room. Don’t worry, he’s cool.

I can’t get to sleep if my childhood stuffed animal isn’t in a known location nearby. He’s a little purple dragon and I’ve had him since I was six months old.

I like to tell stories when I talk and I’m really self-conscious when people make fun of me for it. 

I collect vinyl toys and other small objects and bones.

My most prized possession is my Pleistocene-era shale blade I found in our creek when I was seven. 

There is a snake in my pocket and I am happy to see you.
