falling onto the sofa with a celebratory drink in hand, alec’s taller frame slumped into it. he was exhausted, but yet a grin was plastered on his face. technically it wasn’t their VERY first mission together ever, yet considering they usually had more experienced shadowhunters or his sister ACCOMPANYING them, this was cause for a victory drink or two. it was also their first run alone as parabatai --- a feeling that alec found to be entirely exhilarating. he could pick up every nuance of energy that surged forth working ALONGSIDE the other boy & it gave him an extra boost. growing up together they were already in tune, but this had made the connection all the more STRONGER.
he wasn’t sure WHEN it was, but somewhere along the line, alec had started to notice features about jace that were attractive. the way he set his jaw. the way he laughed. the way he looked at him with a certain GLINT in his eye when they were headed into a fight. it was something he knew he wasn’t supposed to be feeling, but TRY as he might it was hard to ignore. yet he had stayed in his silence on the subject knowing the rules of the clave & on top of that they were now parabatai.
