i am such a firm believer of van proposing before taivan broke up. tai probably decided she wasn’t ready, that she wanted to live the life she always thought she would before committing to something so intense; she blames herself for the scars on vans face, when she’s with van she sees the wolf tearing apart her lovers face, and fugue tai feeds into it.
van loves tai, she’s the first taste of love they’ve ever had — the redhead had been so close to death far too many times, and every time they thought about her. they thought about her sobbing every night and spending the rest of her life alone: and while they don’t know why they’re still alive, a part of them is glad they are — for tai.
so they proposed, they lived — and wanted to spend the rest of their life with tai; they thought she wanted that too.
i mean… why else was van looking so longingly at a VHS of two random people getting married? it should mean nothing to her, but she wishes she was digitizing their wedding tape.
