Summary: You and Last Boss have an odd friendship. You’re the most innocent person that’s ever joined The Beach, and he's considered the most scariest looking man that’s ever been put into Borderland. He saw you everyday, like a little daily meet up, until one day... he stops. He leaves every room you enter, and gets flushed every time he catches you staring at him. You don't understand why he’s ignoring you until you catch him doing - err - alone time?

No one wanted to be close to the person that’s best friend was apart of the militants. But, that was’t just it. Your best friend was one of the best, and most loyal, besides Niragi, to Aguni himself. On top of that, the most intimidating of them all. 

No one knew his real name. Nobody, but you.  

Takatora Samura - AKA - Last Boss.

You’re the only one who knows because you're the only one that’s asked. He's the whole reason you were even taken to The Beach in the first place. He saved you right before you were attacked by a tiger in one of the games. He saved you and you did two things right when you met him.

1) You thanked him for saving your life.

2) You asked him his name.

It surprised him that you asked because no one ever did before. Everyone just called him Last Boss because he reminded everyone of the last person you would fight at the end of a video game. You know, the ones where there so hard to beat that you practically throw your remote controller at the wall out of frustration.

Yeah, that was him. 

He brought you back to The Beach and you soon became the most unlikely friendship on the face of the planet. Partly because you looked so innocent, and were known to only be good in the diamond games. And also, because he looked nothing like any of the people you would have befriended back at home.

You were coined as the innocent one. The one that never got her hands dirty, and never put herself into anything risky. 

But instead of doing anything risky, you decided to befriend someone that some people would consider risky all on his own. 

You and Takatora have these little daily meet ups. Whether is was for making sure you were with him in a game, or just so you both could be close to each other. The second situations would usually consist of him listening to you babble about - well - anything. 

It could stretch from you talking about your life before the games, or something stupid like what you dreamed about last night. 

Whatever it was, he listened. 

He would talk to. Short sentences and one word agreements. And, you were okay with that.

When he did talk to you more than a few short words, it was usually when you two were alone and you asked him a question. Things like what he was like before the games, and what inspired him to get his tattoos. In these moments, you were the listener and he was the talker. These were your favorite moments.

Then one day, it all stopped. 

It was weird how it all ended too. You usually wore shorts and a jacket over a bikini top. You didn't like people looking at your skin, and you most definitely didn’t like when some guys would cat call you. 

But, on that day it was to hot for even just a jacket.

You were stretched out on the roof top; wearing nothing but your bikini top and bottoms. You had a towel underneath you so the hot gravel wouldn’t burn your skin. You would have sat out near the pool like a normal person, but you were to self conscious and you were going to meet up with Takatora soon. 

Last time some guy said something suggestive in front of him, let’s just say you didn’t become the favorite at The Beach because of it. That was one of the many reasons why you had no other friend’s besides Takatora. He was very protective of you. 

But honestly, you didn’t need anybody else. 

As you were longing around at the roof top, waiting for Takatora to find you, you wondered what could be taking him so long. 

You turned around to lay on your stomach and stared at the roof entrance. Just when you were about to flip over again, the door opened and there came the man himself.

You smiled at him, and he smiled slightly back. He walked over and sat in front of you crisscrossed. 

“Hey, Tora. What took you so long?” 

His smiled brightened a little more at the sound of his nickname coming from you.

“Meeting with the executives.”

You nodded your head in understanding, and then remembered you were going to flip over back onto your back before he entered. Got to have an even tan after all.

You flipped over and put your hand over your eyes so the sun wouldn't blind you. 

“So, what was the meeting about?”

This was actually a very normal question for you to ask. He wouldn’t tell you everything, but you some how felt more in the loop then the rest of the people at The Beach from what he did tell you. 

But this time, he didn’t answer.

You just thought it was taking him awhile to think of what to tell you that wouldn’t get him in deep shit with the other executives. After about a whole minute stretched by, you uncovered your hand from your eyed and looked backwards at him. He looked upside down from this angle.

“Tora, you okay?” 

He just stayed looking in front of you. You thought something was in front of you so you glanced to try to see what was keeping his attention, but there was nothing there. 

You then sat up compactly and turned your body around to face him. You leaned back on your hands, and stretched your legs in front of you. You were about to ask him the same question again, until you saw what he was really looking at. 

His eyes were traveling up and down your body. Like you said before, you never wore less than a jacket and a pair of shorts. This was the first time Takatora ever saw your exposed skin before. 

His mouth was a jar, and he looked like he's never seen a women’s body in anything less than a nun outfit. This was obviously not the truth because of how other girls at The Beach wore such skimpy amounts of clothing. 

You started to feel self conscious by the ways he was looking at you, so you crossed your arms over your chest and you're ankles together to sit the same way he was. 

But, he wouldn't stop looking. 

“Takatora!”

You practically shouted his name. He shook his head and finally looked back into your eyes. When he realized he got caught worshiping your body with his eyes, his ears turned red. Your face was sporting a similar blush. 

“I-I have to go,” Takatora said quickly before standing up.

You blinked a couple times and tried stopping him by calling his name, but it was too late. He ran out the door so fast you didn't even have time to stand up, and stop him. 

This was the last time you met up with him in over a week. 

Any time you went somewhere hoping he would meet up with you, he would never show. He didn't even join you when you went to a game that week. You had to join a random group of people all by yourself. Luckily, it was a diamond game and nothing you couldn't handle.

This didn't stop you from feeling guilty for yelling at Takatora.

You one day decided to stop waiting for him to find you, and go find him yourself. You eventually did find him around the pool bar area with other militants. They were all drinking and partying up a storm. 

All of them, but Takatora. 

He looked bored out of his mind and just leaned against a wall by himself. Katana in front of him so he could lean against that too. Hood up so everyone knew not to talk to him. 

You were about to walk up to him, but he caught eyesight of you first. 

His eyes went wide and his ears turned a slight pink shade again. Once again, he ran out the room before you could even make it to the pool bar.

This was how it was between you two for the entire week. Anytime you would enter a room, he would leave. Anytime you would look at him, he would look away and become all flushed in the face.

When it hit the seventh day, you decided this was the last straw. 

You decided you were just going to go to his room and comfort him. You didn't care if he liked what your body looked like. If anything, you kinda liked it. Not in a ‘my bodies better than everyones’ type of way, but because you liked that he liked your body. 

You just wanted him back in your life. 

When you arrived to his room, you promptly knocked on the door like a considerate person. When no one answered, you opened the door a little and peeked in. You’ve been in his room a thousand times before, so nothing in it was new to you, but he wasn't there. 

You entered his room, and shut the door behind you.  

Maybe he was in the bathroom? 

You went and checked but the door was wide open and no Takatora insight. You huffed out in frustration. You looked at yourself in the bathroom mirror and sighed to yourself. Just when you were about to leave his room, you heard the front door to his room start to open. 

You ran right back into his bathroom. You didn't want him to find you, and think you were snooping in his stuff. You shut the door behind you as quickly and quietly as you could. 

You leaned against it and covered your mouth with your hand as an extra mesure to keep you from making any noise. 

You heard some things move around in his room, and after a couple of minutes you heard what sounded like him getting into bed. 

You opened the bathroom door quietly, and just a crack so you could see through. 

And what you saw was exactly what you thought you heard. Your best friend, Last Boss himself, was laying on his bed over the covers. 

His katana was on the side table closest to him. When you looked at his katana, you smiled to yourself at the memory it brought to light. 

You asked Takatora one day if he could teach you how to fight with it. It surprised you, and the people around you at the time, when he said yes without hesitation. 

The day he taught you how to use it, he admitted to you that you were the only person he trusted enough to hold his katana. You felt honored and your feelings for him only grew from there. No ones ever trusted you before with something so special and he trusted you without any hesitation.

Your were popped out of your memory filled bubble, when you heard a grunt come from Takatora. You looked back at him and your face became as red as a tomato. 

Takatora, your best friend, had his hands in his pants having - err - alone time?

You looked away right away. You should not be watching him please himself. You may have a soft spot for him, but that doesn't mean you should watch him do... his thing. 

“Y/n~”

You were just the right height to reach it, so you started unscrewing the vent bolts with your hands. It took some time, but some how you made it work. 

You kept hearing the pleasant noises from Takatora the whole time, but you just kept reminding yourself to focus. 

You got to the last bolt and started scrambling to get it done. Right when you were about to turn the bolt one last time to open the vent completely, you heard Takatora grunt out in pleasure with your name on his lips. This brought your focus back on him for just a second, but in that second the vent was completely unscrewed and it fell to the ground with a loud bang.

There’s no way he didn't hear that. Your eyes went wide and mouth flew open at what just happened. 

You heard Takatora’s feet hit the floor and you knew he was about to go to whatever made that noice. You started forcing yourself into the vent as fast as you could. 

Just before your whole body got into the vent, a hand gripped onto your ankle and pulled you right out.

Your head hit the counter during the fall, and you were out cold.

When you woke up, your head hurt like you were just hit by a crow bar. You instinctively put your hand on the side of your head, and hissed at the pain it brought you. As you sat up, you looked down and realized this wasn’t your bed. You then you looked around and realized this wasn’t your room either. 

You started to freak out and look around franticly. You only calmed down when you saw Takatora sitting in the corner in a chair, staring out the window. You breathed out in relief. You thought someone kidnapped you, but instead you were just in Takatora’s room.

Wait a minute, why were you in Takatora’s room?

You voiced this exact concern. “Tora, why am I here?”

Takatora whipped his head around in surprise when he heard you speak. He must of not realized you were awake. After his surprise wore off, you realized he became stiff and stared at the ground in embarrassment. 

What could he be embarrassed about? Was it because of last time -

Then your memory came back. You're instantly covered your mouth and looked away in your own embarrassed state. You couldn't help but babble out at an apology.

“Oh my God, Tora! I’m so sorry! I came here to find you, and talk to you about the last time we saw each other, but then you weren't here. But when you came back to your room, I freaked out and hid in your bathroom. Then - um - I thought the best way for me to leave was the vent. And-and... I’m so sorry.” 

He was now looking at you stunned. Stunned for the fact that you made this much of an effort to talk to him, or the fact that he thought you didn't see him having his alone time. 

But you did see him, you just weren’t going to worsen the situation with bringing it up. 

You breathed in and tried to calm yourself down from all the emotions swirling around in your head right now. You then thought maybe it would be best to just leave and never speak about this again. 

You stood up and sped walked to the door. You were about to pry it open, but then Takatora stopped you by grabbing onto your hand. He didn't look at you, just stared at the ground. It was silent for a long time so you spoke first.

“Takatora?”

It was just his name, but it made him look at you. You walked closer to him and his eyes widened for a second. You knew he didn’t want to talk about last night, at least right away, so you thought maybe this would be a better time than any other to ask him about what happened a week ago.

“Why have you been avoiding me?”

He looked back at you again and you saw sadness written all over his face. 

“B-because-” He stopped himself short, but you just leaned in closer to him to show him you were waiting for an answer. You heard him sigh and it was like he just let out all air in his lungs that he was holding. “Because I want you Y/n.”

“Want me? Want me how?”

You weren't stupid, but you wanted him to say it out loud. You wanted him to admit the same feelings you’ve gained for him since the day you met him. The feelings that grew into so much more than a crush since he trusted you to hold his katana. 

“I want you as in - I love you.”

And this brought the biggest smile onto your face. You jumped onto him and wrapped your arms around his neck tightly. He was stiff and shocked at first, but then he reluctantly wrapped his arms around you. 

When you pulled back, still with your arms around each other, you looked right into his eyes and said, “Takatora! I've loved you since practically the moment I met you.”

His eyebrows shot up and you never saw him more surprised in your life. 

“You do?”

You nodded your head rapidly. The smile that spread to his face was the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen. You couldn't take it anymore. You leaned forward and kissed him passionately. He gasped into your mouth and It took him a moment, but he eventually kissed you back and pulled you flush against him.

Your mouths moved together in unison and you felt so free, and happy in that moment. It wasn’t until Takatora pulled out of the kiss that you're remembered there was still on more thing you had to talk about. He was the one, surprisingly, that brought it up though. 

“Um, Y/n. - What did you see last night?”

His ears turned a slight shade of pink and since you were so close to his face you saw even the parts of his face that didn’t have tattoos on them were pinker in color. He held his breath and waited for your answer. 

You felt so on top of the world in that moment, that you some how had enough confidence to say, “Nothing I wouldn't want to join into next time.”

You smirked at him and he bit his lip. Embarrassment be gone. 

He pulled you in again and dove in for a deep kiss. 

That kiss was one of many, but that was the first alone time you two had together as a pair in love.

a/n : fun fact I had to write this twice because the first time I didn’t press save AaaaAAAAAA

this was your second game in the borderlands , fortunately for you , your first one had been a diamond based game

you weren’t really strong on the physical side , it wasn’t your thing because you spent most of your days lazing around and not bothering to spend any time on exercising

oh you regretted that lol

this game also happened to be samura’s second game . his first game was a 7 of spades

he had got his tattoos on the first day that he had entered the borderlands , it was now his 7th day

he had join this game to get more experience and an additional few days could be added to his visa as well

the game was hosted in a school , and 6 people were required to join .

when you entered the school lobby ( which was the starting point of the game ) samura was already there with another 3 participants

a couple and an old man

when you entered you had eye contact with samura and exchanged glances

it turned into a mini staring competition lOl

he refused to look away , trying to intimidate you and it did the trick because you glanced away from him

his tattoos were scaring you , but you found them intriguing

after a few minutes a girl came in and the game was to start because the minimum of 6 participants was reached

everyone had looked experience because nobody bothered to ask any questions

finally the game started and the rules were announced

game : laser tag

participants : 6

6 of clubs

rules : 3 teams will be given a selection out of a variety of guns , each team has 6 players and each player may take up to two guns . the last team standing wins .

cooperate with your teammates , work together and kill the opponents to win

you weren’t exactly happy that this was a physical based game but you were glad that it was something related to guns

your father had a habit of bringing you to the jungle with him in the summer to hunt together , so you were glad that you knew the basics of shooting

glad that something from the past would help you out today

back to the game

suddenly the door that was connecting the lobby to the main hall of the school opened up revealing the dark hall with a table in the middle

the table had a big selection of guns which were scattered across it

you scanned the table and quickly took a deagle which was a pistol

it was easy to use and was your favourite gun , it’s simplicity made it your favourite

you also picked up a glock at the same time , just in case you ran out of ammo

“ tsk , are you that big of a coward ? ” you heard the tattooed man say when he saw that you were only taking pistols

you chose to ignore him , but then he took an ak and shoved it to you

“ take this instead , much more useful than that little gun of yours . ” he said with a smirk

“ i like what i have , thank you. ” you said sarcastically before placing the ak down

suddenly , an alarm rang . signaling that the game was initiated

samura ran towards the exit on the right which lead to the schools hallways

you knew this because you had memorised the school plan earlier by looking at the sign in the lobby while waiting

when he ran towards the exit , his back was facing you

this was the first time you noticed the long katana that was secured on his back

before he left the exit , samura turned around and gave you a look that pretty much said stay alive , before turning the corner

once he left you headed to the place you thought was most secure

which was the roof

on the way there , you encountered a man that was in his late 20s

he had aimed his gun at you , readying his barrel

right when he was about to pull the trigger , he got shot in the head

you ran straight towards the roof , not wanting to have the same fate as the man who nearly killed you

on the way there the hallways were cleared out , dead bodies scattered on the floor

but no signs of other players yet

until you ran into a boy who was blocking the staircase to the roof

he was your soon to be first kill

he aimed for you but before he could pull the trigger , you did instead

a bullet flew through his head and his body dropped onto the ground

you quickly ran up the staircase , muttering a sorry for the poor boy you had just killed

once you reached the roof you had secured it , hoping that no one else would make their way towards it

you were surveiling the schools courtyard from the top not paying much attention to the staircase door

you wish you had , because someone was coming up the staircase

someone who had the intention to kill you

after a while , you finally heard footsteps and you turned around only to be punched in the face

you fell to the ground due to the impact , your nose was now bleeding

the man continued to throw a few more punches at you

before he took out his gun

he aimed for your head

but just before he could pull the trigger you heard footsteps followed by a thud of a body

you vision was blurry , you couldn’t see what was going on clearly but you could see someone holding a katana

this was the end , you thought .

but to your dismay , your so called saviour lifted you up and you came face to face with the tattooed man from earlier

your vision then steadied and you quickly thanked him

he was looking over your body , staring at your bruises that was caused by the man he had killed

while he wasn’t focused , you noticed a man from afar aiming at his knees , attempting to knock him off starting from his feet

you couldn’t pull out your gun in time

so once you heard the trigger being pulled you pushed samura aside

the bullet went straight through your knee

once you fell to the floor , you quickly pulled out your deagle

shooting the man who had pierced a bullet into your knee

it all happened so quick

so when the man was down , samura quickly helped you up

he didn’t say much but he muttered a thank you

for the rest of the game the both of you stayed together , his trying his best to keep you alive while killing the other players

finally the game had ended , leaving your team victorious

the rest of the players in your team were probably dead , because it was only you and him in the lobby

once the game had ended he introduced himself to you

“ samura , that’s what i go by . ”

you had replied back , giving him your name as well .

he thanked you once again for saving him

but he pretty much whispered it because he’s too self centered to apologise properly lol

you were about to split ways but he saw that you couldn’t really walk with your injured knee

so for the first time in his life she volunteered to help someone

she brought you to his base

taking care of you until your knee was healed, he brought you to games with him

and you ended up earning free visa days because he was doing all the work for you

once it was healed the both of you had to part ways

but you promised him that you would see each other again

after all you both were pretty attached to each other at this point

and after about 30+ days , you had arrived at the beach

and you ended up meeting him again
