I hope everyone had a happy Easter weekend. I know for some, holidays can be hard. Missing family members, having to spend it at work or by yourself. Or maybe even in a room full of people you still feel like you’re alone.

So I wanted to wish you all a very happy Easter. And if it didn’t turn out happy then I hope tomorrow will be better. You deserve love and kindness and caring. You are loved even if you don’t feel it right now. Live your best life, grow and succeed you clever people.

I feel cautiously optimistic about the results in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.  They only went for Trump in 2016 because there were an unusually high number of third party votes

Jorgenson and Hawkins haven’t gotten nearly as much attention as Johnson and Stein.  People were apathetic in 2016; both candidates were incredibly unpopular, so the Libertarians and the Greens were able to carve out the largest wedge since Ross Perot in the 90s.  Also, a vote for candidate Trump in 2016 is very different from a vote for president Trump in 2020; the novelty has worn off, he was a gimmick candidate and nobody thinks it’s funny anymore.  Things have gotten real serious real fast.

He has never had majority approval; his base only makes up 35 - 40% of the country, and he has done nothing to expand it.  Instead of trying to convince people to vote for him, he has focused all his efforts on preventing people from voting against him.  If he can’t grow his base, he’ll just have to whittle away at his opponent’s; neuter the Post Office, close polling places, make up stories about unprecedented voter fraud, he’s doing everything in his power to stop people from voting altogether because he knows he doesn’t stand a chance.

If anything, all his attempts to undermine our democracy have actually made it stronger.  People are fed up with his bullshit, and they’re turning out in record numbers!

He’s got no new material, he’s playing the hits to a dead crowd; sure, his fans love it when he plays Free Bird, but everyone else wants to hear a different fucking song!
