All Blaine really wanted was to explore the stage- they didn't have this at Dalton. Carmel high was a very impressive public high school- and he was more than excited to be part of Vocal Adrenaline. Jesse had indeed converted him, made him join the ranks after much praise and... well, being drop dead gorgeous. With those eyes, and hair... it was enough to make him melt into a puddle. It was exhilarating to find someone who understood him and actually cared about what he had to say- instead of judging him. He had always been a curious person, questioning everything that went on in his life. Seemed like Jesse was that catalyst who drove him in the right direction, into the arms of not only love and partnership, but a Nationally known show choir.
Jesse said that he'd meet him after seeing his agent about some gig in the Hollywood heartland. And a man by Gavin Sullivan had welcomed him into the ranks, being his tour guide... who vanished when he was called by a stage hand about not being able to reach certain set pieces.
Which left Blaine Anderson alone.
Until two sets of hands grabbed at him, pulling the polished newbie into the wings. He didn't have time to gasp and before he knew it- he was surrounded by two pairs of feasting eyes, their form circling around their prey...him.
"Oh- uh... hello, Ladies." He tried to be polite. Where was Van?
"You smell like biscotti." A girl with ratty hair spat, "Drink some redbull or Jack you punk-ass-"
"-w-what?" Blaine was officially terrified. He took a step forward, trying to get out of this circle.
"-If you move, I have a shank in my bosum and I'm not afraid to pull a Sweeney Todd." He froze. "Good. Now, all we want to do is ask some questions...is that alright?"
He knew that even if he said no, they'd ask anyway... so he nodded slowly under the dim purple light.
"What the hell does Jesse see in you?"
"-I want to know!" The girl he now knew as Liza had a trace of sadness in her eyes, and that pain resonated through him.
"I-I...We...." He started.
"What makes you think you're good enough for him? Just because you came from richie-boy prep school, it doesn't mean you're better and more deserving than other people." The unnamed one with yellow- not blonde, but yellow- hair's eyes squinted hard and deep, still circling.
Were they ex-girlfriends? Crushes? Fans? Current girlfriends? He knew Jesse was popular, but he didn't know to what extent he was? Jesse wouldn't do that, would he? Blaine was not interested in sharing his boyfriend at all.
"I feel hurt that Jesse didn't tell me about his new squeeze."
"Ty, you don't have to know about everything..."
Ty. That was her name. Okay.
"This is kind of a big deal. Why wouldn't he? And besides... it's another addition to the school, the team, the popularity scale- it will throw everyone off. This Hobbit doesn't know what he's left behind and entered into."
"I-" Blaine didn't have time to speak.
"...and I hate seeing you hurt, Lizabear."
"I know..." The one named Liza sighed, almost breaking that terrifying facade, but slipped right back into it once she saw Blaine was inching again out of the death circle she and her friend had created.
"What did you do? Did you pull down your pants and show him your cock? Or was it the other way around where you bent over for him? I bet you liked it didn't you- you look shiny on the outside but I bet you're nothing but a slu-"
"Liza..." Tylore softly whispered, knowing her better half was getting louder by the second.
"-SLUT. YOU'RE A SLUT. I DOUBT YOU HAVE ANY FEELINGS FOR HIM, YOU BASTARD."
It was in slow motion. Blaine was tackled, and let out a loud yell as he was being mauled by this ANIMAL of a young woman, her teeth getting dangerously close to his jugular- but for the most part, her hands where just slapping him. Everywhere. Blaine was not the type to fight or punch a girl- so he attempted in his best efforts to push her off little by little. And was failing. He squirmed and squirmed until two pairs of heroic hands came in between the pair.
"Hey man, calm down..." Van held both of Liza's hands behind her back as she kicked, and growled- baring her teeth and black eyeliner smudged beyond repair. Tylore pinched her cheek, whispering in her ear with a hard edge in her voice.
"Stop fidgeting and look. Damn it, look."
Liza started to calm down and her eyes came upon the image of Jesse St. James holding a clearly mortified and scratched up Blaine Anderson in his arms, forehead littered with constant kisses. Why had Tylore told her to look? Why?
Jesse let go of Blaine, who was hesitant to let his boyfriend do so, eyes pleading like a puppy dog's. The lead male vocalist stopped in front of his ex-girlfriend, downcast eyes of shame.
"Let her go, Van." He did.
"I'm sorry...Jesse. I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to- I couldn't..." He pressed a finger to her lips, which ached to say more intelligent things, deeper things she's only admitted to herself whenever she looked in the mirror and saw the reflection of a lively yet hollow typical party girl who hid her wounds with faulty duct tape.
"Shh... We need to talk later. For now, I need to take Blaine on a little visit to the first aid kit for a couple bandaids. Tylore? Van? Please escort her out."
The two nodded as they were told, Van leading the way into an adjoining hallway and Tylore holding hands with the blonde who was still shaking with heartbreak and the sheer sight of what just happened.
"Jesse? ....Is everyone in Vocal Adrenaline like this? I don't think I want to stay if I have to deal with... that." He pointed to a long scar on the side of his face, and winced feeling the sting.
"No, they are just a special group. Everyone will like you just fine. Especially since you're in cohorts with me. Well, more than cohorts. We'll be kings. They'll be nice, I promise. We don't bite. Much." There was that smirk he had always liked, and made his heart beat faster.
Blaine could only hope so, trying to push the memory of the girl's teeth out of his head.
He hoped Jesse would be there to help him ward off the vampires.
