IN MYTHOLOGY:

Hera is the Queen of the Gods and is the wife and sister of Zeus in the Olympian pantheon. She is known for being the Goddess of marriage and birth. Hera is known for her jealousy; even Zeus, commonly portrayed as fearless, feared her rages. This jealousy caused her to continuously torment Zeus’ lovers and children. Hera was always aware of Zeus' trickery and kept very close watch over him and his excursions to Earth.

BIOGRAPHY: 

The daughter of one of Olympia’s richest families adores her public appearance. George and Matilda Vernier are two distinguished pillars holding up the town’s “high society,” so it was natural that their daughter would become their protégé. Through their guidance Nicole became the star of her ballet recitals, student council president, and eventually prom queen. She prides herself with the accomplishment of digging her claws into a powerful role. In her mind she wants to evoke change, it just happens to be that her vision is the best solution for every problem. 

Nicole started dating Aldric in high school, he was the perfect image of the prom king. At first she was captivated by Aldric’s ability to win an argument against her, a trait which proved to be lethal throughout their rocky relationship. Despite this she still believes that they could be the perfect power couple if she can get him to focus. Her lack of control in him spurs her professional self to be spread horrifically thin.  University was where she truly blossomed beyond the top of the high school pyramid, expanded her reach into the future. After four years she earned a BA in history, now back for her master’s degree specializing in History of Medicine. She’s been in school since she was five and has never taken a year off. Typically Nicole’s entire day is planned out, from a thesis due, to a cocktail party for her mother’s new book. She doesn’t waste her time on being unproductive.

NAME: Mirik Kemp  AGE: 23 OCCUPATION: Student MYTH: Poseidon, god of water, earthquakes and storms FC: Ryan McCartan

IN MYTHOLOGY:

Poseidon, God of the sea and rivers, creator of storms and floods, and the bringer of earthquakes and destruction, Poseidon was perhaps the most disruptive of all the ancient Greek gods, not only for mortals but also to Zeus’ peaceful reign on Mount Olympus. Despite the above, the trident-bearing god was not always a negative force, and he did have a role as a protector, particularly to mariners.

BIOGRAPHY:

Heir to the Kemp fishing fortune, established in Ocean Shores, Washington for around the 1900′s, Mirik was everything you wanted a first born to be. Hard working, dedicated, honest positive, and many a day spent alongside his father on boats hardened him into a goal-oriented, man. Having grown up in an incredibly traditional family, even the concept of Mirik going to college felt odd to the Kemps. Determining that it was best for their business, in a growing world, that they learned to expand and adapt their fortune overseas. Thus, under the unquestioned guidance of his parents, he was dropped off at the ΓΟΔ fraternity with four years of business school to take on.

College was     an adjustment for Mirik to say the least. Shifting from the patriarchal, religious structure that was commonplace in his community to the diversity of a university town gave him a culture shock, and introduced it’s own exciting but dramatic changes. For the first time in his life, Mirik had the freedom to do things for himself and experience life being whoever he wanted. With the help of his frat brothers, this journey to self discovery was filled with alcohol, drugs, girls and parties. In fact it involved just about everything but actual coursework, which Mirik began to pass by the skin of his teeth.

Now well into his degree, and still on a bender of experiencing life for himself, his “YOLO” philosophy has begun to present multiple issues. Firstly, Mirik has a tendency to be incredibly polarizing when drunk, which most nights, he is. As endearing and apologetic as he can be, this unpredictability has begun to form wedges in many of his relationships. Secondly, as his grip begins to slip on his academics, the pressure to keep from disappointing his family or putting the family empire at risk grows. The time to return home, degree in hand, grows closer, and one can only hope by the time it’s all over, Mirik has the emotional maturity and sensibility to not fuck it all up.

NAME: Clover Kelly AGE: 21 OCCUPATION: Student / Exotic Dancer MYTH: Aphrodite, goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and sexuality. FC: Freya Mavor

IN MYTHOLOGY:

Goddess of love, beauty, desire, and all aspects of sexuality, Aphrodite could entice both gods and humans into illicit affairs with her good looks and whispered sweet nothings. Aphrodite was honored as a protector of those who traveled by sea and, less surprisingly, courtesans and prostitutes. Compelled by her mother Hera to marry Hephaestus, the dull god of fire and crafts, Aphrodite was less than faithful, having notorious affairs with the Ares, Hermes, and Dionysus. The affair with Ares was perhaps the most shocking of the many episodes of infidelity that occurred among the Olympian Gods.

BIOGRAPHY:

Born on a still, crisp night typical of a French-Canadian summer, from the instant she came into the world, people fell in love with her. A girl of great emotional intelligence from her earliest days, Clover just loved people. They loved her back. Naturally charismatic and curious about those around her, as her body and mind matured, these skills would prove to be a blessing and a curse.

One of these blessings, however, would be her early developing photography skills. Gifted an instant camera for a birthday in her preteens, her appreciation of beauty made her a natural photographer. It was all she ever wanted to be doing and her teen years were spent dreamily chasing fantasies of cinematic moments with deep life-long meanings. The reality of adulthood post-graduation hit like a punch to the gut.

Unsure what to pursue, she lasted a single year of Psychology at her community college before deciding to chase her dreams. With a best effort, last minute application to  and more so a desire to travel than even attend school, Clover applied for a photography program across the border. She was shocked, admittedly, when the acceptance letter came in the mail. Her mother joked they really just wanted the international tuition. Three months later she was packed up and hugging her parents good-bye, travelling, for the first time ever, to meet her aunt and begin her dream program in Washington, U.S.A.

School has brought a flurry of experiences, from her first “love” and not high school boyfriend, new friends and most importantly, new sexual experiences. The sexual experimentation was a particular vice, as it served not only as an indulgences, but an amazing inspiration to her craft. Then Theodore suggested commitment, and having never done it, she agreed. Most of her freshmen year was spent with Theodore, and her first love was everything she’d dreamed it’d be---until that wasn’t enough. Her inspiration ran dry with her sex life, and Clover’s begun to panic... It started with the dating apps, the the sugar-daddy apps, and eventually, under the cloak of a “bartender” job, Clover’s been stripping as a source of income and a seeking of thrills for months now.

The indulgence of attention, financial aid and glamour only has her more enthusiastically chasing her high. Making flirty eye contact for fun, winking back to caught glances--the power’s begun to go to her head, and she’s very quickly going to test everyone she holds close to their limits as her double life become harder and harder to maintain.

IN MYTHOLOGY:

He and his brothers, Zeus and Poseidon, defeated their father's generation of gods, the Titans, and claimed ruling of the cosmos. Hades received the underworld. Hades was often portrayed with his three-headed guard dog Cerberus. Despite modern connotations of death as evil, Hades was actually more altruistically inclined in mythology. Hades was often portrayed as passive rather than evil; his role was often maintaining relative balance. That said, he was also depicted as cold and stern, and he held all of his subjects equally accountable to his laws.

BIOGRAPHY:

With eleven loud older brothers collectively, towering over him, Judas was born annoyed. He’d spend many days waking up to his bed on the front lawn, or blue hair dye in his shampoo. Each of his brother’s achievements were on a constant conversational loop. Judas knew his first grade macaroni frame paled in comparison to a football scholarship, even if he did cover it in glitter. By high school he’d hated his average status, and allowed his mother pressure him into college thinking a degree could push his life into substance. Ideally he wanted to be more than working for his father’s insurance company, so he was sure to pick something that was (in his mind) creative. Judas enrolled in a BA in philosophy, without any thought as to how that could manifest into a career. He was too busy thinking about the newly deemed “college tablet” he had in his Amazon cart. The most positive memories from university were indulgent, frat parties, drunken hookups, and pulling his own pranks on freshmen. Judas’ new brothers Mirik and Aldric enhanced his ego causing his empathy to weaken with each new compliment. He became comfortable being the guy who forgets his date’s name, and the apology was extracted from his vocabulary.  After four years of university his life still felt like a blank slate. On paper all he had to show for his years of post-secondary labor was a diploma (which he still hadn’t removed from the envelope). No job prospects. Not even a continued curiosity for philosophy. His ambition had burnt out. Upon the news that he’d been “wasting his life away” his father insisted he abandon his childish superiority for the family business. With a humanities degree Judas assumed he would be limited in his options, however with some training his father transformed him into a competent insurance man. Now he’s been working full time for his father for two years, and slowly realizing that average isn’t as demeaning as he originally thought.

Despite being raised by a single father, and never really knowing his mother, Jake led a fairly normal life. He grew up in the suburbs, his father making enough to support the two of them comfortably. Growing up without a mother, Jake ended up fiercely independent. From money to love, Jake didn’t want to rely on anyone for anything. He wanted to make his own life, and be on his own. He has had very few actual relationships, but he likes it that way. He met his best friend, Liam, when they were freshman year roommates. Although complete opposites, the pair ended up getting along very well and complimented each other nicely.

Jake is currently a successful writer living in Malibu. He is still single, and not really looking to change that. He’s convinced that he prefers it that way. He lives comfortably with his dog, while keeping in close touch with his father and his old college roommate. Currently working on his next book, Jake spends a lot of his free time writing and finding inspiration in the little things. Lover of the beach, Jake plans to look for a home on the shore in the near future.
