Biography
Born with her fathers eyes and her mothers will and intelligence, Ela Olivia Porter had a much different upbringing than most. Surrounded by wildlife, wild animals, two loving parents and a eccentric grandfather - she never felt like she was missing out on anything. After all, she always had playmates in her extended animal family. The forest was full of dangers, yes, but it was also the most calming place in the world. The wind rustling through the trees and the waves hitting the shore were all she needed to feel at ease. Her home schooling was thorough, her mom was an extremely educated woman and she ensured her daughter was raised with the same values and interest in learning despite being raised so far away from modern society. So, while her grandfather and mother taught her all they knew about the core subjects, her father taught her how to defend herself and treat the earth and all those who inhibited it.
Though she had a loving, exciting childhood - as she developed into adulthood, she couldn't help but feel a little lost. She read book after book, travelled throughout every inch of their homeland and learned all she could from her parents and she now knew it was time to really find herself. Although they were able to have resources shipped to them from friends and family in London so that she could do distance courses, it didn't fufill her need to really find out where she was meant to be and what she was meant to do. So, at twenty two years old, she finally took the leap and told her parents she needed more.
Although her father, with his protective instincts, was difficult to convince, eventually she was able to take the long journey from the small island to the large kingdom of Auradon. There, she learned about the history, their rulers, the customs and anything else she could to give off the illusion that she wasn't such an outsider. Despite joining a sorority, mimicking the clothing choices and behaviors of some of the girls and taking up a part time job as a tutor - she still finds it difficult to adjust to such an overwhelming society and tends to take things at face value. She often wonders if she'll ever find her place among her kind of if she's doomed to forever be an outcast.

Headcanons
Ela is far from Tri Delta material, in fact she would have never been accepted if it weren’t for the fact that her mother, Jane Porter, was a legacy in their sister sorority London Campus.
Growing up with wild animals as extended family, Ela practices compassion for animals and the earth the way others would practice religion. She believes that all creatures should be treated with love a respect and tries to do all she can to keep her ecological footprint low.
Her room in the sorority house is covered in tons of exotic plants and flowers that she tends to daily. She often gives some of them away as gifts to the other girls.
Connections
The Dirtbag: The Anthomaniac knew tutoring would be a challenge, their inability to connect with people was a huge motivator in their accepting the opportunity in the first place. However, the greatest challenge seems to be having The Dirtbag show up at all. Despite this, The Anthomaniac believes The Dirtbag is capable of more than they let on and The Anthomaniac works hard to ensure they’re doing all they can to raise The Dirtbag’s grades as well as their work ethic.
The Artisan. Living in a sorority house full of very different women could feel overwhelming to anyone, much less The Anthomaniac who has barely any experience with social gatherings in general. Lucky, whenever they feel confused or overwhelmed - they finds solace in The Artisan. Even just watching The Artisan work in silence reminds The Anthomaniac of their childhood, watching their mothers sketch photo’s of their animal friends and family... and this instantly puts The Anthomaniac’s mind at ease.
The Caregiver: When The Anthomaniac transferred into Auradon University, their guidance counselor figured it’d be best to pair them up with one of the best students during orientation week to make getting around the school and assimilating to their new life easier. In comes The Caregiver. Assigned to show The Anthomaniac the ropes, the two were awkward at first, but by the end of the week they developed a sweet friendship that usually includes a two cups of coffee and shared conversations at Belle’s Bookshelf.
