KEVIN PARK | TWENTY-FOUR | THE TROPHY | TAKEN
Position: School nurse & Anatomy teacher
Kevin is a Charlton University alumnus who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing last 2014, with a cum laude honor, at the age of 22. He works as an Anatomy teacher and school nurse, and is currently in his second year for his Master’s Degree (two years to complete).
All his life, Kevin has been the walking trophy of the Park family. As the eldest of three children, his parents always expected him to be the one to bring home great achievements. He was what his relatives called “The Prodigy” because at the age of three, he can already read complete sentences. At first, Kevin liked the spotlight, because everyone praised him for his brain. Everyone gave him rewards for his medals. Everyone at school knew him, and he was a teacher’s pet. But when he was old enough for the rebellious stage of a teenage boy, he realized what he’s really been missing the whole time: fun and his siblings’ affections.
While he thought it was unfair that his siblings didn’t carry the load of giving the Park family a great reputation, his siblings got jealous of him for getting all their parents’ attention. So he grew up distant from them. His academic career also robbed him off his leisure time, which always resulted to him missing out on all the parties that happened back in high school. Fortunately, his stay in the university was different. College isn’t easy and friends are essential if one wants to survive the stress. He still wasn’t the social butterfly who partied every week, but at least this time he had people he could run to.
Maybe now that he’s a faculty member of the university he’s come to find a second home in, he could prove himself to be anything but the family trophy.
Everything about Kevin is soft. No one has seen him express strong emotions ---he never gets angry nor overly-enthusiastic. Soft-spoken, mild, and is always kind to everyone he meets. He’s really shy, because growing up, he didn’t spend his time hanging out with people for fun. The only things he ever did during his leisure time was anything that could make his family proud of him. That, or if it could help him advance in his academic career.
