Moments in MG History: Aeter vs Tadkins
Once upon a time, Aeter and Tadkins spent a month promoting "the Greatest Duel Ever on Moon Guard."It was advertized as an epic fight between the forces of good and evil and would be a model for super cool PVP. It was going to be the duel that would have everyone talking.
I just came across a summary of the event I wrote in its immediate aftermath...
Aeter and Grover sat in the middle of the arena. It was at this point I realized that it was not like Gurubashi in that it did not flag anyone. Suddenly, I became worried that what I was about to witness was two lame-Os dancing around a duel flag. My fears were realized when Tadkins approached. They RPed in /yell for a bit and then... the duel flag dropped! If I told you of the hush that fell over the arena, or the tension in the air, or the concern on the faces of the onlookers... I would be lying. They began to weave around the duel flag. Aeter stunned Tadkins and began to fight Tadkins's ghoul rather than Tadkins himself. Tadkins regained control of himself and Aeter continued to fight the ghoul. Tadkins fired Death Coils at Aeter, and valiantly, Aeter fought the ghoul. Just when the ghoul had taken the worst of the battle and could have died honorably, Aeter abandoned it as a target and began to chase Tadkins in ever-widening circles, himself pursued by the confused but still alive ghoul. Aeter stunned Tadkins. Aeter stunned the ghoul. Tadkins summoned a gargoyle. Aeter began to fight the gargoyle most manfully, lest it live until the end of its 30 second timer. Tadkins shot Aeter with Death coils. The gargoyle fell. Aeter struck Tadkins a powerful blow, almost killing him. Tadkins sacrificed the ghoul and was at full health. Once more the two ran in circles. Aeter began to consecrate the ground as he sprinted after Tadkins who was now using [Rocket Boots]. Cooldowns back up, Tadkins summoned another ghoul. Aeter set upon it with great fury! Tadkins shot Aeter with a Death Coil. Aeter was stunned by the ghouls leap and for a moment lost his target and accidentally struck Tadkins! At the point, members of <Mediocrity> who had been buzzing the fight on their flying mounts initiated the Arena of Anguish quest. Just as Tadkins lay most vulnerable a great and ferocious jormungar burst through the soil and struck him a critical blow! This, coupled with white damage from Aeter's weapon sent Tadkins down and lost him the duel! Aeter was victorious! The crowd was thrilled. The jormungar was dispatched... And then... The yell "Best 2 out of 3" was heard! Yes, friends, not only was this a nubbish duel-flag nobody dies sort of thing but it was BEST 2 OUT OF 3! <Mediocrity> ran back and forth across the field, fighting more Arena matches, summoning pony kegs, and using soul attunement stones and fireworks to disrupt the filming, but it was too late. The damage was done. Now, free of the concerns of accidental death by actually being attacked, Tadkins won the next two fights, and Aeter RP died. At no point did Aeter bubble or, as far as I could tell, LoH. He did his best to attack everything but Tadkins, including the jormungar. Win-Win for everyone.
So...I know I'm really late but.. I'm going to start watching Dr. Who. |( ̄3 ̄)|
