Taking you | Z.H.
A/N: First song from the first EP and I just had to write for Zach Herron, I’m sorry. Not really, but well... :) Anyway, enjoy and leave me your thoughts on this if you want more.
As you and Zach laid in the sofa of the Why Don’t We house, you both could hear the boys joking around in the kitchen, opening can after can of soda and cheering after every single one as if it was some kind of non-alcoholic champagne.
You had tried to convince Zach to go with his band mates. You had tried to convince him that you’d be fine for a few hours by yourself while he had fun with his friends, but he had instantly refused the idea, shaking his head vehemently.
“I’ll be with them all day everyday for the next three months. I want to be with you, now.”
And that was how you two had ended up there, tangled in each other’s embrace while laying on the couch in complete silence simply enjoying each other’s warmth.
It was Zach you had with you, though, so silence wasn’t an option for long. When he started to shift positions underneath your body, you giggled slightly, turning around to face him while still being held in his grasp.
“You okay there, Zachy?” You asked with an amused smile. Your boyfriend rolled his eyes.
“I’ll miss this.” He breathed out. The smile didn’t leave your lips, but a small frown formed in your face. “I’ll miss your smile. I’ll miss your eyes. I’ll even miss that stupid tone of voice you have when you’re making fun of me. Damn, I need you in my life.”
At that, you sighed happily, moving so you were now straddling him and your eyes were looking directly at each other’s. Reaching your hand up, you caressed his cheek and Zach leaned into your touch.
“Like the limelights need you?” You asked, causing the boy in front of you to smile, full of adoration.
“I wish I could take you with me wherever I go.” He admitted. “Calling you is not enough. When you pick up, you’re my lifeline. I hate hanging up the phone.”
“Me too.” You nodded. “I wish we could never hang up. I feed on our late night and early morning conversations. I depend on you.”
Zach nodded, fully understanding your words yet not finding the ones to retribute the amount of happiness you had just given him. Pulling your body even closer to his, Zach nuzzled his head against your neck and you laughed when his breath tickled your neck.
“You know, you never leave my mind.” He whispered.
“Oh yeah?” You asked, tilting your head slightly as he nodded against your skin.
“Uhum.” He hummed, contently. “So technically you’re always with me.”
“Even on the plane rides you take?”
“You fly with me, redeye.”
At that, you laughed, throwing your head back in delight. Zach watched you with a sappy smile on his face and held you tighter when you almost tipped sideways on the sofa.
“You’re so beautiful.” He breathed out suddenly.
“Zach…” You blushed slightly, rolling your eyes at the compliment.
“You are!” He protested. “And you make everything look so much better too. The damn sky’s so clear when you’re the view too.”
“You’re only saying it.” You accused only half-heartedly, knowing full well he actually did mean everything. “You’re only saying it because you’re my boyfriend and you’re leaving tomorrow.”
At that, Zach shook his head with a fond smile, holding your face in between his hands so that you were looking at him.
“I only say it 'cause I really mean it.”
You felt your cheeks heating up and leaned forward, pressing your lips to his. Just as Zach was about to deepen the kiss, you pulled back, locking your eyes with his once again. You smiled.
“I love you.” You breathed out. Before he could respond, you continued. “I love you so damn much and it scares the shit out of me.”
“Really?” He asked with a surprised smile. “I ain't afraid of how you got me feeling.”
“No?” You asked in the same tone. He confirmed his previous statement shaking his head. “Why?”
Zach shrugged.
“I don’t know.” He admitted as you smiled. “I just love you, I guess.”
“I love you too.” You repeated. “Do you promise to always remember me even when you’re surrounded by fans or famous people?”
Zach rolled his eyes fondly at you and ran his fingers through your hair as he nodded.
“I won’t have to remember you, (Y/N). It doesn’t matter where I am, or who I’m with. It doesn’t mean if our band grows as big as One Direction or if we stay the same as we are now and you know why? Because anywhere I go, I’m taking you with me.”
You smiled.
“Good.” You nodded, leaning forward so that your body was pressed flush against his. “Because anywhere I go, I’m taking you too.”
