Call me, Fight me and Tell me. :)
Tell me/Call me: [[I'll make Apollo and Hel, Human!AU and angst okay?]]
"You know there's something wrong, don't you? I can't hide anything from you, you know me too well..."
"What is it? You've been skipping a lot of classes the past weeks. And, I mean, more classes than it's normal for you to skip. And Ares came to me yesterday asking me if I knew what was going on because you weren't talking to him! And you love that guy!"
"Hel, I was trying to make it easier for him, for everyone. Maybe, if I push him away..." Apollo let out a sob and started crying. Hel supported him by his arms, to stop him from hitting the floor. She was shocked when she felt how skinny his arms were.
"Apollo...?"
"It's Leuchemia. I've been skipping classes because the chemo sessions are getting more frequently. But it's not working."
"So, you're gonna try others-"
"There's nothing else to try, Hel. It's just a matter of time now."
"No! You can't give up! You never give up! Yu practically stalked Ares for two years before he agreed to go on a date with you! and now he's in love with you! You helped me and Baldur to get together! And everyone knows we're huge social failures! You succeed at everything, you can't give up now!"
"It's not up to me anymore. I did what I could, but some battles we lose. I lost this one." He kissed her forehead and walked out of the room. She didn't have the strength to call him back.
His mother called her two weeks later to let her know the time and place of his funeral. Hel didn't attend to it.

A: Isn't Parthenope a thing?
Jormungandr turned around to see Apollo smirking at him.
A: She managed to convince Gaia to go away... J: Cry me a river. - Jor grunted, barely controlling his anger. A: I think this was the best for everyone. Mother's presence was stressing things. J: Who would think it would be so easy to defeat her... A: Oh, don't be so smug. You think just because she's powerful, it means she's violent? She's not like you. Blood thirsty. She doesn't seek pleasure in destruction. J: Neither do I. A: Are you lying to me or to yourself? You can pretend all you want is this life: wife and kids, a pool, maybe, someday, a dog. But I see what's underneath: that hunger, that void that can only be filled by the screams of the ones you kill. You're so ashamed of it but you know it's true. Not only because your father told you, but because you feel it. And you're scared. J: Shut up. - his tone was definitive. A: Or what? You're going to attack me? I'd love to see you try. J: Last time, I almost killed you. A: I've learned a few things... I'm stronger now. And you owe me your life. J: What? A: Hel is powerless. I brought you back and you better keep that in mind! - disappears.
~Jor and Parthe's room~
"Hello!"
Jor turned around, recognizing the mocking tone on that voice. Apollo was leaning against the door frame, one foot on the wall, a smirk on his face.
Before Jor could do anything, he moved his hand and the door closed silently.
"Let's not have the girls interrupting our conversation."
"You have a lot of nerve coming here-"
"I said 'our conversation', but I'll do the talk, so you better sit and shut up.", he moved his hand and Jor was tossed on the floor, paralyzed, his voice gone. Apollo kept talking, walking around him. "She talked to you, didn't she? Unexpected. Almost reckless... We don't have all the details figured out, that was too risky..." He sat in front of Jor, pushing the bigger man easily into a sitting position, a displayed of strength that Jor wasn't expecting.
"I'm strong, you see. Stronger." He chuckled. "You know what I mean, right? But even with all these powers, I didn't see that coming..." His absent tone made Jormungandr's blood cold. Apollo was planning something. "I watch Parthenope since she was born and I was always aware of her strength, but now this is a problem. You see, I thought that a strong vessel was the best, but it's actually an inconvenience. We don't want her to rebel, do we?" Again that evil smirk was on his lips.
"You are a problem for me. Not just because the bite, even I didn't forget and forgiving that. She loves you. That is the problem. I can't risk my family's security for a siren's love. I can't risk Parthenope saying no because of you."
Jormungandr saw the blade coming into existence in Apollo's hand. A blink of an eye later, another sword, identical to the first was on the god's other hand.
"These are the Twins. Completely identical, as you can see. I have a beautiful armor that goes great with them, but there's no need of it." He got up, swinging the swords gracefully across the air. "If I kill you and erase her memories, what other choice will she have? Come back to her island?" Makes a face. "I don't see this as a option." He walked around Jormungandr one more time and stopped in front of him. "This is for the bite"
He swung the swords so fast that they could barely be seen. But Jor felt them. A big and bloody 'X' was now marking his chest; Apollo's blades were burning hot. His body leaned forward and he were kept from falling on the floor from Apollo's foot on his chest. He kicked him lightly back into a sitting position and spun the two swords. "Don't worry, your kids will be safe. I mean, Gaia is a mother, after all. And if she's too busy, Ares and I can take care of them. He likes kids, who would think that, huh? It was a surprise for me too... Oh, before I forget, your sister can't help you. She's an adorable naive thing, isn't she? I mean, for all she knows, she doesn't actually know anything. Had a prince on her bed and let him go... It's a game she can't play 'cause she's too good. But how can this help her now? Or you?" He chuckled again. "The gates are all closed for her. She always said she had no place. Well, now it's for real. Hel doesn't have love or loyalty or even respect for Odin. Three things that are dangerous not to have for a king. The old man finally stroke back. She's now an outcast like you. With no power over Helheim anymore. I'm telling you this because I'm honestly curious to know where your soul, if you have one, is going after you die. If we ever see each other again, you tell me?
No expecting an answer, he moved his left arm, fast as light and in a quick movement, his left sword went completely through Jor's chest; the hilt soaking in the blood. Apollo pulled it out and smiled, again sustaining Jor's body with a foot. "It's not personal. It's war."
Coming from both sides, the Twins made a soft noise before separating the head from the body. Apollo held them both in one hand and lifted Jor's head with the other. "You should had listened when she told you to step aside." He dropped the head on the floor and cleaned the mess with a thought. Some dignity to a fellow soldier, he thought before disappearing into a flash of bright light.
"You're worried"
"Is it so obvious?"
"Tell me what's wrong, Apollo."
Apollo turned to face Ares. His face is exhausted like he never saw before.
"Can't you tell? Can't youfeel? Everything is wrong, out of place. It's like our energy had changed. I don't know if it's good or bad. You've felt it too."
"I did. But I don't dare to think what caused it."
"She did."
Ares shaked his head.
"Don't say a word against her. Not to me."
"I won't. She's with us after all. Walking on Earth and nothing could make me happier. But I'm scared. This world, our energy weren't made to live along with her. Her presence among us is a bless and a curse. Zeus isn't the most smart god we know. What if he decides she must leave and she refuses?"
Ares couldn't think of an answer. Apollo's is so hopeless and looks so fragile that he can only pull the smaller god to his arms and holds him close.
Apollo stayed like that, holding Hel in his arms for what felt like years, although it was only a few hours. He knew what she’d have wanted, to be brought to the bright boy and her family, so he did. Baldur was sitting in the lotus position on the floor of his and Hel’s room, rereading the note, over and over, as he’d done since she’d gone. It didn’t make sense, even before the words started to blend together, it didn’t make sense to him.
He looked up, hearing Apollo approach and upon seeing what stood before him, his heart sank. Apollo looked tired, more tired than Baldur had ever seen him, but it was the way he held Hel that scared him. For the most part, it looked like she’d just fallen asleep in his arms but Baldur knew Hel. He knew every inch of her like it was his first language and the purple under her eyes, the blue of her lips, the way her hands didn’t hold onto Apollo.. There was something very, very wrong.
Rising to his feet, he hesitated for a moment before rushing to take hel into his arms, she was so cold, like she was when he first met her, in her kingdom. He tried in vain to warm her up, letting his light shine burningly hot against her skin. With tears already rolling down his cheeks, he laid her gently on the bed and kissed her forehead before turning on Apollo.
Baldur pinned him against the wall by his neck, his legs dangling in mid air, “What did you do?!”
Through choking coughs and his own sobs, Apollo kicked Baldur, bringing them both to the ground, “I tried to save her! I was too late! She didn’t.. She was already too far gone!”
“How do we get her back?” Baldur questioned, his tone final. Nothing would waver his decision to bring her back.
Apollo sat against the wall and held his head in his hands, “Helheim won’t give her back.”
Baldur rose to his feet and offered his hand to Apollo, “So we take her!”
—-
The deadwalkers knew they would come, they waited. To stop them.
“She’s not here.” They both spoke, one eery voice but both had said it. “The beloved one became nothing and of nothing she became everything.”
A small chuckle from another room in the echoey castle of Elivdnir told apollo and Baldur they were talking to the wrong person. The woman’s childlike voice carried through the halls, “Don’t listen to them, the “beloved one” was her grandmother, they just can’t tell the difference.” She seemed to be taunting them, her voice raising hairs along their necks.
“Who are you, do you know where Hel is?” Baldur called to nowhere in particular, unable to know where the voice was coming from.
Apollo, hit Baldur’s arm, telling him to be quiet. From what he’d heard, mostly from Hel, the voices without faces were the ones not to be trusted. It was then she appeared; a small girl, black as night hair, pale as snow skin and the bluest eyes. “Amy. Amy Lavendine, thanks for asking.” She smiled sarcastically, “So you are the infamous in the words of Hel, ‘Мальчики Света.’ She’s said a /lot/ about you.” She pointed to Apollo, “Not so much about you, though. I can’t say I’m surprised.” She laughed again.
Apollo rolled his eyes and stepped forward, “Hel. Where is she?”
Amy leant carelessly against the wall, “Oh, they got that bit right. Your Hel became nothing then everything.”
Baldur shoved his hands in his pocket to stop his arms shaking, “What does that mean?”
Amy rolled her eyes, “She ascended. Gone. Finito. End of story. Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred.”
“H..how do we get her back?”
Amy smiled sadly, “You don’t.”
