Honestly one of my favorite aspects of Talarao is just imagining Tala standing behind Masurao with her arms crossed, smirking, either super proud of him doing something awesome or LAUGHING AS HE MAKES OTHER PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE. She's so proud of her man. She's always sitting here like "aww yee I got myself a good one."
YEEESSS I think one of my favourite things is that on the outisde they would seem like the most bizarre unlikely couple, but they have a super healthy relationship where they each get to be their own person and the two of them are simply a TEAM where they each bring out the best in the other. And it’s just so sweet.

Who cried when they brought their child home for the first time:Masurao. He was all cool and chill during the day like yeah no big deal. But then during the night he wakes up and checks the crib to watch his heir sleep and sheds the manliest of tears.
Who would wake up in the middle of the night to check on the kid(s):I remember in his alien form, his species wake up naturally every 2 hours to check on their offspring. But I imagine as a human, he still would too. The first weeks he’d sleep terribly, because he’d want to check up on the tiny person all the time.
Who changes the kid(s) diapers:I imagine they both do. Turn it into a competitive game to see who can do it the BEST and the FASTEST.
Who makes the bottles:Tala does, while Masurao soothes the crying child, because they tend to cry more if their mothers are holding them because they link them to instant food. He read up on all of this of course. He was super prepared.
Who stays up late at night to rock the kid(s) to sleep and sing them lullabys:Masurao. Honestly, I think he’d try to relieve Tala of so many burdens, because she already performed an absolute miracle in carrying this beautiful baby so he’d make sure she gets plenty of rest.
Who is guilty of spoiling the kid(s):Talaaaaa. Masurao is more strict.
Who would give the kid(s) cookies in the middle of the night:Also Tala, lbr. And eat 15 cookies herself.
Who always takes the kid(s) side:I want to say neither most of the time, because they form a team. Though I can see Tala side with the kids in some situations like “yeah we can ride that rollercoaster!” and Masurao is like “no you are too short, you both are.”
Who would wake up early to make breakfast for the kid(s) before school:Masurao. He always wakes up early.
Who gets the kid(s) ready for school in the morning:They both do when there’s more than one. When there’s just one, Tala.
Who takes the kid(s) to school:Masurao. They JOG to school.
Who goes to parent teacher conferences:They both do. Teachers get super uncomfortable around stoic Masurao and that is Tala’s favourite reason to go to there conferences because it’s hilarious.
Who will be the first to suggest to have ‘the talk’ with the kid(s):Tala. Masurao would be pretty oblivious.
Who would choose their child(s) prom outfit:Tala. I think each kid’s prom outfit will have a crazy touch to it.
Who would cry when the kid(s) go off to college:Hmmmm… Tala.

who wears the ugly christmas sweatersThey both do. Not because Masurao specifically wanted to, but obviously because Tala got them a matching set.
who picks out the holiday movies and who makes the hot cocoaMasurao makes the cocoa. Tala picks a holiday movie called Santa Slayer III: Rudolph’s Revenge.
who starts the snowball fightWhen the snow has fallen, they both rush outside and see who can throw the first snowball, so it’s a race.
who drags the other under the mistletoeTala drags Masurao, she’s a bit less demure like that.
who decorates the houseMasurao let’s Tala go crazy with the weirdest decorations, like an Action Man with angels wings at the top of the tree and stuff like that. She is simply unstoppable. Not that he tries to stop her at all. Just lets it happen.
who hangs up the ornaments on the treeSame as above, though Masurao does help. He likes trees. He probably states it looks better undecorated, but if it needs to be decorate, he probably insists on picking some of the decorations. He mainly uses pinecones and edible decorations.
who cooks christmas dinnerThey both do.
who invites the other to sing a christmas duetTala to Masurao. More like uses force to drag him into a duet.
if they have any holiday traditionsThree turkeys. Always. Trust them, they’ll be gone soon enough.
who would start a food fight during bakingThey both would. Tala more vigorously, Masurao in a more sneaky way. Like a fling of mashed potatoes that suddenly comes out of nowhere.
who would get drunk off of eggnogMasurao, because people keep saying there’s no alcohol in it and then he ends up drunk and starts hugging people and tells them how much he loves them or doesn’t.
And he tells the kids "If you tickle the lady, she'll give you even more candy!" and Tala utters a string of curses as she disappears in a sea of children as Masurao chuckles in the background.
The middle ground: Masurao returns to the apartment after he's gone to get breakfast to find Tala there and that happens. Then Etoile comes over and says Masurao has to dress up as Grunkle Stan and Masurao is all "wth we never agreed to this" and Tala is all "Yes we did." So of course Masurao goes dressed as Grunkle Stan, because he can't say no to his precious deadly poison flower.
And then after dark, they switch costumes and go as Malificent and Captain Hook (the OUaT Captain hook obvs, no perms for the Susu) and look hella fine, because Masurao's been so lenient in going dressed as Grunkle Stan, so she says they'll switch costumes now and he's all happy. Plus, they also need to go truly terrify some people and that moment is now (also they don't need costumes for that, but you know, spirit of the season).
And as Masurao enters the apartment yes, he is truly more concerned about the carpet because who in the world would beat up Tala like this, it's physically impossible, so he just doesn't buy it. Also because it's probably the 7th time this has happened when it wasn't Halloween.
I'm laughing my head off at "put his affection into this creature" like Tala is some kind of beast bECAUSE SHE KIND OF IS. But he's there for the moments that no one else gets to see--the fire in her eyes when she tells him she loves him, the sleepy mornings where she drapes herself over his chest and keeps sleeping, the bad days when she makes him some steak to help out, the proud smirk on her lips when she talks about how amazing her Masurao is.
May I present to everyone: Sadie, and how her perfect words and writing form a gentle fist that hits me right in the solar plexus so I need to lay down for a while and contemplate about the beauty that is this and the brilliance that is this amazing pairing and how lucky I am that this is written because HRRNNGNN
okay so I've been listening to "Bang Bang" by Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider and I keep picturing Tala singing (very loudly of course) to Masurao, "SEE ANYBODY COULD BE GOOOOOD TO YOU, YOU NEED A BAD GIRL TO BLOW YOUR MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND!" And Masurao is just like "why"
Oh my god this is flawless and perfect.
He just sits there. Wondering how it has come to be that he has put all his affection into this creature. The most unlikely ever. And yet it has happened. Now he will be in this situation every day. But he doesn’t mind.
