“h-hey, try not to move too much!” gentle hands press against the other, pushing them back so they resume laying on the cot. daylight illuminates the hanging pots of plants on every window and the sheen of the boy’s hair. it can only be tricks of the light but it looks as though daybreak gives him a halo. “it looked like you collapsed and hit your head really hard. here, drink this to help with the pain,” he murmurs. remy offers a teacup of traditional herbal medicine he’s made himself. the liquid’s botanic scent overpowers the room. although the aroma of his medicines are not to the liking of his patients he feels they’re comforting. “i’m remy,” he says. the boy smiles for the first time since the other awakened.
