There are so many alternatives to Nanowrimo that I feel a little (a lot) overwhelmed by choices so I'm gonna do the challenge semi solo this year.
I'll be involving all of you of course, but otherwise solo.
Maybe next year things will be fleshed out a little more and I'll be able to muffle my choice anxiety to try one out. I dunno. We'll see.

Absolutely torture scenes. With Neia and Conrad, specifically. They're so much fun to write, even if I never publish them! It's a little limiting, as it's set in the Lord of the Rings universe, but finding ways to navigate that is half the fun!
13. I had to research if it was possible to put barbed fishing hooks on the ends of a cat-o-nine-tails for extra bleed damage. It was not helpful at all. I've decided to do it anyway. For science!
24. Honestly? When people get things wrong. Not little things, I'm capable of suspending my disbelief, but when they do things like SLITTING SOMEONE'S THROAT and that person survives longer than a few seconds? HERE'S ONE FOR YOU. I read a book recently - a PUBLISHED BOOK - in which a woman put a dagger INTO HER SHOULDER and STITCHED IT UP before DRIVING HERSELF SO SHE COULD GET (knowingly) KIDNAPPED. She then TORE THE STITCHES OPEN, PULLED OUT THE KNIFE, AND STABBED THE KIDNAPPER WITHOUT ANY PAIN TO HERSELF???????? HELLO??????? I AM SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP
