Dalamus' younger sister. Born 80 years before the events of Baldur's Gate 3, and born 120 years after Dalamus.
When Taliira was born, the first girl after three boys, she immediately became the favorite child. Dalamus went from an "only child" to having a younger sibling who now got all the attention, all the favors. For while Dalamus was successful in the family trade of gemcutting, Taliira could possibly be more. Played right, she could elevate the family.
Rather than harbor jealousy or hatred as Orgoll had towards him, Dalamus used his newfound "invisibility" to continue his work in peace. Raising her was not his primary responsibility, but he was occasionally required to watch her or feed her as she grew up.
Dalamus did not bother getting attached, knowing she would far outrank him in societal importance within a mere decade or two. He left the doling out of any punishments or praise to their parents. But when Dalamus and Taliira were alone, he got to see her as the child she was.
She was inquisitive, bright-eyed and intelligent. Even before she could speak, she would sit upon his lap and watch him work with stones with wide eyes. As she got older and developed a vocabulary, she asked many questions and expected answers, which Dalamus gave bluntly and precisely. He was at the whims of her curiosities, giving him less and less time to think to himself as she grew older and older, and curiouser and curiouser.
As Taliira entered her teenage years, she became entitled, as was only natural in a Lolthite society which told her she deserved everything, and Dalamus' parents had taught her well. She began demanding things, and Dalamus had no choice but to oblige. A gem. Make some jewelry. Tidy her room. Buy her clothes. Make her food--not like that! She got mean. She learned insults. She lashed out. He had to take it.
Dalamus had survived Orgoll's abuse and killed him. Killing Taliira would have been even easier, as she was no threat just yet, but it likely would have been a death sentence for himself. He chose to distance himself instead, burying himself in work, where he could cut gems and make jewelry in peace. He made decent money which contributed to the household and Taliira's lessons, and was largely left alone by his parents.
He avoided contact with Taliira as much as possible, difficult when they live together. His room, his workbench, was his sanctuary. Taliira was not as physically hostile as Orgoll had been, knowing that Dalamus was much older and stronger and more skilled than she. But she knew her words had to be heeded, and used that to her advantage when upset, sometimes to humiliating effect. At least once, she used him as a training dummy for testing her magic.
At 25, Taliira would use the accumulated money from Dalamus' gemcutting to purchase entry into the Clerical Academy of Arach-Tilinith, beginning training to become a priestess and gaining an interest in Necrotic spells, preferring to weaken foes rather than deal direct damage.
