Have you always been interested in music?

Always interested in Art. Always without doubt.

Were your parents supportive to music as a profession?

Yes, totally.

Who has more value born musician or a trained musician?

Everyone is a born artist. Some play with numbers, some play with colors and some with musical notes or sounds. No one can teach a musician how to make music. There definitely are courses out there to learn about tools.

Who gave you the name Dub Sharma?

Circumstances.

Huge Live Audience or performing for a selective group?

Definitely a selective group than a Huge Lost Audience.

What is RSS - Ruff Sound System?

We friends started this to support the local art/music scene that was being gobbled up by the corporate. Brands/Venues book artists and then don't let them perform freely. Also, the heavy gate fee and couple entry crap was keeping these artists away from their audience. So these are free gigs that happen in Chandigarh and are all done with support money donated by people supporting the movement. Not just music, we're supporting art in all forms. We invite painters, graffiti artists, photographers, film makers to work with us and take this to the next level. It's a good experience as the artists get their audience and the audience gets a good place to get together and celebrate art.

Do you think anything has changed after Sound Trippin?

Yes, people got to know the real musicians behind faces.

and "Tung Tung"?

Felt really emotionally attached to it while making it. Gradually, lost interest in it. Felt like a surrogate mother. Really enjoyed working with Sneha, Nooran Sisters and their father Gulshan Mir.

What are you currently working on?

Working with Bollywood music directors got really boring. I am working on my own music now. The Rising EP and Vyuh are in stores. Next album is almost done. I am writing music for a few interesting projects I'll be talking about in the near future. I try to devote sometime to big up all the new artists around me and help them cut records in a time when Bollywood tries to overpower every good artist.

Do you have your own art in your own apartment?

Yes I do ... Though only one permanently. others get made and discarded :P

What were you working on last week?

Editing an animation film made by school students from Dehradun, an initiative by Max Mueller Foundation.

When you are not working on creating something do you miss something?

Many times I do. Can't stay long enough without creating something.

Would you say the art world has accepted you by now?

Well, since my scenario is a little different as I appear on TV. People think I am a 'Baap' or already established, earning a lot and already there where people aim for. But I know that I haven't even started as an artist. Need to be known for my work not cos I appear on TV. It's still a long way.

A lot of unknown artists say art does not need an audience. How true is that?

Well an artist doesn't need an audience when he/she begins with any art work (non-commercial)... But I think sub consciously all of us do like and crave for acceptance and recognition. No one would dislike appreciation. This recognition or critique also acts as fuel to create more. As almost no artist really knows what he or she has created. The audience are the beings that see, think (sometimes over think) about the art and give feedback to the artist of what they perceive vs. what artist had in mind.

What will be your masterpiece?

That might be difficult for any artist to say. Cos the day I create so called a master piece. I will find faults and would want to create something more, something different, a better masterpiece.
