I've still been working on getting all my documents updated with my new name, and as much as this sucks to be doing right now, I've also been lucky that many of the clerks at the various government offices I've had to go to have been very nice and helpful to me, often pointedly so.
I was getting some forms updated earlier today and started to have to deadname myself out loud, but as soon as the lady working the window understood what I was there for she made it a point to not ask for anything else like that and quietly read from my paperwork instead, interjecting only to warmly compliment my new middle name and gripe about the noisy printer next to her, purposely calling me "Miss" several times, which felt really nice.
The worker who processed my documents at the social security office was very businesslike the whole time, but at the end when he was handing my papers back, looked me right in the eyes and told me "Now you be safe out there" in a way that felt like he cared.
I had to get something notarized at city hall, and the ladies there were very welcoming, making sure I had everything filled out correctly while still being lighthearted and making friendly smalltalk, somehow leaving me feeling like I should go get things notarized more often.
It's definitely rough out here in many ways, but people being helpful and kind on purpose makes it feel like an easier, better, softer way of being with each other is still here too.
We found this F2U ref base so Dustpelt may fill that in later! It's really nice either way, and we're noting it down in our personal server so we can go back and send them a tip later on when we can afford to do so. Bills this month have certainly piled up.. But we should be getting a little bit more later this month & more overall next month! Which'll be nice. The other one is noted down too, not to worry! ^^
Although we are considering changing stuff up to be warriors themed if everyone stays shifted this way for longer. Ravenpaw has said he'll use the previous bases we found first probably for a visual? We'll see what he decides.
So as it stands, we have: He/They (Any but she/her) Firestar, She/They/He Sandstorm, and Any pronouns Dustpelt! Ravenpaw is sticking to He/Him for the time being!

Currently working on - a couple original projects that will hopefully bring about some good fortune. the final chapters of sitf (i promise. mega huge update on the horizon!). my laundry. wooing my new lady friend godwilling.

If you haven’t noticed from being on twitter or at thanksgiving dinner, being around folks with the opposite stance as you is fucking exhausting and I don’t think it should be a societal expectation to constantly whittle away at your mental fortitude like that.
