Not sure about all the details but I do know the Studio’s got other big projects going on rn.
If I remember right Tsuda was pretty novice when he directed Part 1 (and some of that inexperience showed btw, as a Dio fan I still hate the way he didn’t “get” the way Araki wrote Dio in Phantom Blood). But by later parts, Tsuda had his footing … and so did David. I think there’s enough at stake here that the new director(s) will do a good job and that the extended hiatus represents DavidPro not repeating the mistakes from Part 4, which felt like it suffered from short-handed staffing and resources.
IMO Part 5 will be better than last season. Hope they prove me right.
