i should document them more but they're just kind of silly... THIS... is the only... photo i have on my phone... of an unbaked sculpture. no laughing i created this tragic memorial for my sister, in memory of her First neopet. when she tried to log into her account during quarantine and was devastated to find... he had been stolen. and was in the possession of another user. and he had been morphed and completely changed. and her account had been wiped from the face of neopia. RIP.

the pace of stampede is insane and the marvel tm parallels and attempts to fully explain the sci fi elements previously left up to the imagination are awkward and off-putting to me but i am past the point of critique because i have not experienced this much dopamine in 2000 years. they're faithful enough to the character beats to keep me entertained.

trigun stampede is a solid 7.5/10 popcorn flick, turn your brain off and just enjoy the ride. just don't expect a one-to-one adaptation of maximum. the spirit is there.

my recommendation to anyone whose interest is piqued in this series by stampede is to read trigun/trigun maximum! the og '98 anime is also good. they're all different and they've got their own vibes and merits. basically what i am saying is you have Three Cakes. and they're all pretty sweet.

it is just so healing to only subject oneself to parts of a fandom that are exclusively rabid with positivity and completely forget negativity exists entirely

#yeah.#like it's there's it's just all window dressing#the symbolism is heavy handed and unsubtle but if anything it's more subversive in it's messaging#obviously guilt and regret is a central theme but more importantly#This Is Not A Story About Forgiveness Or Redemption#vash's WHOLE DEAL is that you or anyone can get up one day and just.#change your future. be a different person#it's not 'you are obligated to right your wrongs'#it's 'you can change course. that will always be true. i am here to remind you of that.'#it's a story about learning to live with and love yourself despite being imperfect#and to love other people#and. uh. overcoming depression.#wolfwood doesn't die because he believes he has no path forward.#and that he has to go out in some blaze of glory to redeem his soul or whatever#he dies because he he made the conscious choice to put himself at risk#in order to spare the lives of people who wanted to hurt him#because he finally understood vash's intent. and he wanted to give those people that chance.#vash doesn't treat livio or wolfwood or anyone else with blood on their hands any differently for what they've done in the past#because what matters to him is what they choose to do next#he doesn't pass judgement on them.#wolfwood struggles a lot with vash's ideology and it takes him a long time to accept it#because he has a hard time accepting himself and moving past his regrets#and it's worth noting that wolfwood's ideology is not wrong#vash isn't naive by any means#but he is idealistic to a fault and it is literally killing him#for as many chances as he gives people the choice to change#many of them simply choose not to#wolfwood fights and kills to protect the people important to him#and reminds vash that he is not always going to be in a position where he has the luxury of sparing his enemies#vash who is an inhuman super being outclassing 90% of humanity on every level#who is rarely in real danger from mundane threats #and eventually!!! vash has to come to terms with wolfwood's ideology too!#what i am saying is.#if you find the idea of religious overtones distasteful.#trigun is not actually Like That#but it's meant to draw parallels to certain things#there's no focus on 'righting wrongs'.#there's not even an emphasis on 'becoming a BETTER person'#that's not the point.#Everyone Is A People#and Everyone is capable of violence and kindness#in equal measure! and you can choose#not to perpetuate the cycle of violence#okay?#okay.

i hate cooking every day i hate planning i hate meal prep i hate grocery shopping i hate dishes i hate taking more than 20 seconds to figure out and prepare what to eat. boiled eggs and raw vegetables for dinner i don't give a fuck. who has the energy for this, who derives pleasure from the act of making food by and for themselves. it's boring it's tiresome it's expensive it's messy i'd rather be using my limited free time to be doing anything else, i hate i hate i hate i hate

trigun is so indulgent. it's literally impossible to flanderize vash the stampede in a way that matters. literally what are you going to do. make him cooler? make him more pathetic? he's already canonically S tier gary sue material. there's very few things that you could imagine happening to him in fan material than haven't already happened in canon. he's an angel. he dodges bullets. he cries blood. he's objectified. he blew a hole in the moon. he's so pathetic his enemies sometimes just give up trying to murder him out of pity or disgust. he has a robot arm. he can't drive.

i just re-read all of trigun/trigun maximum and remembered i am embarrassingly NOT normal about it
