@worldsbestdoc sent [muse a] listens to [muse b]’s heartbeat. | romantic affection prompt
... Boom boom...
She couldn’t see. Her eyelids were simply to heavy to lift; either not enough energy or motive to bring her there just yet. She couldn’t determine through feel alone what was around her besides the warm glow of sunlight and the weight of her own body. Seconds of consciousness faded into minutes, and with them the gradual flow of sensation returned to her the waking reflexes she needed to acknowledge her position.
... Boom boom...
It wasn’t sunlight after all. That didn’t make sense for this source of that heat was beneath her, beside her, encircling her in places as slowly her muscles stirred and brought recognition of her body in a space, in a bed amidst rough, untreated sheets that unpleasantly grated against her slight movements. Her fingers curled, her hands were near her chest, one stiff–painfully somehow–and restrained by something. She still couldn’t open her eyes.
... Boom boom...
“What is that?” Her mind complained. Just so, her conscience was sent reeling by the sudden ache pull pain throughout the right side of her abdomen. Those muscles tensed against the inner strain, only worsening the sharp effect of that hurt that then broke her slow, shallow breathing into sobs. Instantly she realized how fragile she felt, how paralyzed and frightened. Her brow creased and neck twisted, her nose brushing against the much softer weave of a fabric, clothing, the sound was closer there. she pressed into it. A familiar scent filled her mouth as she rasped for another more complete intake of air, she couldn’t quite place it yet, but it only served to soothe.
... Boom boom...
God, she felt so small. There was no light to filter in as her vision remained a soft blur of patchy color behind those lids. Another sound pricked her ears, then the buzz that resonated in her chest; her own voice. She’d groaned and hadn’t even willed it. The ache in her side began to throb angrily. Her knees bent slightly, trying to shrink inward, anything to relieve whatever had awakened this horrid, stabbing pain, only to feel her legs meet with a barrier. She bore no strength in her hips to press it away, but could feel the slow radiant warmth that exuded there as well. It moved. Either it had moved or she was hallucinating. Neither seemed more likely in the state which her now somewhat regained, weary conscience was struggling to communicate with the rest of her physical being.
... Boom boom...
She drew her chin down, tucking her head closer to the source of the sound as more sensation collected in her staggered mind. She recognized it now. The warmth, movement, scent, and a heartbeat; a body. Angela. No one else would have dared to be so close as this.
“Angela.” Moira whispered despite forcing the breath to where she figured would be more than enough to properly utilize her vocal chords. So weak. She couldn’t even fathom it yet, only knowing the waling pain somewhere in her middle and the certainty now of who it was holding her against the reassuring, predictable pace of that heartbeat.

Oh-
Hey! I finished this new drawing yesterday and i'm really happy with the result! Moira, the new heroine from Overwatch!
Moira's Backstory
Equal parts brilliant and controversial, scientist Moira O'Deorain is on the cutting edge of genetic engineering, searching for a way to rewrite the fundamental building blocks of life.
Over a decade ago, O'Deorain made waves when she published a controversial paper detailing a methodology for creating custom genetic programs that could alter DNA at a cellular level. It seemed like a promising step toward overcoming diseases and disorders and maximizing human potential.
Dissent among her peers soon followed. Many considered her work to be dangerous because of its perceived ethical shortfalls, and O'Deorain was even accused of having the same unchecked desire for scientific advancement that some believed had caused the Omnic Crisis. In addition, other geneticists were unable to reproduce the results of Moira's research, which further called her discoveries into question. Instead of kickstarting her career, her paper seriously damaged her reputation.
She received a lifeline in an offer from an unlikely source: Overwatch's covert ops division, Blackwatch. She continued her work in the shadows while developing new weapons and technologies for the organization. Her employment was a closely kept secret, until it was uncovered during inquiries following the Venice incident. Many high-ranking Overwatch officials disavowed all knowledge of her affiliation with them.
After Overwatch was disbanded, O'Deorain was forced to turn to unconventional sources of funding. This time, she was invited to join the scientific collective that had founded the city of Oasis. Yet some have whispered that the shadowy Talon organization had already been supporting her for years, aiding her experiments in exchange for utilizing the results for their own purposes.
Though O'Deorain will go to any lengths to make scientific breakthroughs, her work is still unknown to most of the world. But now that she has been freed from all constraints, it is only a matter of time before everything changes.
