Tommy asking Bruce for Martha's hand in marriage and Bruce just looks him up and down before he stands up and walks out of the room without saying anything. Meanwhile Tommy is panicking because he feels like he's gonna get bataranged to the face but Bruce comes back with a box and he just slides it towards Tommy on the table. Tommy is a little hesitant because he feels likes it trapped but when he opens it, he sees that it's a ring.

Bruce: "My father got my mother that engagement ring a long time ago...I thought it was only right that Thomas gives it to Martha again."

and Tommy just staring at him and he looks at the ring and he sees the engraving "I will always choose you" and he just stares back at Bruce and he actually starts to tear up.

Thomas: "I- Wow- Bruce, I...I can't. I shouldn't-" and Bruce smiles: "You should. I think they would've wanted you two to have it..."

So one night at dinner, Tommy pulling Martha to the side and taking her to the gazebo they would always have their play dates at and then he turns around and gets on one knee.

Tommy: "Martha Wayne, I will always choose you no matter the lifetime."

Martha: "Oh my God..."

Tommy: "And I know that you'll always choose me. So how about we continue to choose each other and be husband and wife?" and he opens the box and she RECGONIZES it as her grandma's engagement ring and Martha gasping before she falls to her knees and Tommy sits up and helps her stand up. And she's crying happy tears and Tommy smiles and kisses her and says: "Stop, you're gonna make me cry too and this eyeliner isn't cheap." and she rolls her eyes but hugs him: "YES! YES! A THOUSAND TIMES YES, TOMMY!" and Thomas hugs her and she gets so happy she literally jumps on him and wraps her legs around him and he just laughs but hugs her even tighter and Bruce literally just having a tear fall down his eye.

Thinking about Gotham Heroes just trying to have a nice and normal date with their s/o's but HERO WORK JUST RUINING IT BECAUSE GOTHAM NEVER STOPS BEING CRAZY. I honestly do think that Rosario doesn't really give a fuck. Like, if people are in danger then hell yeah, he'll get involved but if Maikel is all: "Rosario, I might be onto something big!"

Rosario: "Really!? I'd love to hear more about it instead of just sitting in the bathtub with my super sexy boyfriend who is feeding my chocolate and filling my wine glass."

Maikel: "Perfect because it is LENGTHY-" and Rosario rolls his eyes and hangs up and Benito is all: "That was rude." and Rosario shrugs and he's all: "He knows I still love 'em. I just love you more~" only for Benito's phone to ring and he sighs and picks it up and he's all: "So, uh...funny coincidence, apparently Maikel uncovered my underground weapons trade so I have to take care of that-" and Rosario groans but sips wine and at least watches as soap and water fall down and drip off of Benito's butt.

OR LIKE, TOMMY AND MARTHA JUST DEAL WITH IT BY GOING OFF THE RADAR. They are UNREACHABLE. Batman is trying to find her with the Bat Computer but nothing is showing up and SHIELD is using all of their resources to find Tommy. Meanwhile, they're on the beach laughing and clinking their wine glasses BECAUSE THEY DESERVE IT. AND WHEN THEY GET BACK, they get lectured so badly but it was so totally worth it. Like, Martha and Elazar totally have an agreement where one of them goes off-radar or off-planet with their s/o and the other person covers as leader for both teams. MEANWHILE, Tommy kisses Martha and he's all: "Every hour I spend with you is precious but we should consider going back tommorrow because I feel like Lonan is doing shit he should not be doing-" and Martha giggles and she's all: "I mean, he does need practice~"

MAIKEL KNOWS HIS VILLAINS SO WELL that he plans his dates specifically on dates he KNOWS they're gone, in Arkham, etc. But obviously since he's a man with many enemies, it's hard to the perfect day so sometimes he takes his chances. Like, he and Felicia are having a really nice dinner at a restaurant and Felicia is all: "I need to use the restroom." and Maikel casually notices a sniper out the window and he's all: "Look at that, I do too! You know what would be fun? Crouching as we make our way to the bathroom and pretend like we're trying to avoid being shot." and Felicia frowns: "That doesn't sound very fun at all." Or like, Cheshire and James-Dean show up to ruin their date and kill them but Maikel is all: "OKAY, how about I buy you two dinner and you DON'T ruin my date with my girlfriend." and they agree but they purposely order the most expensive dishes because they're petty like that. And when Maikel gets the bill, Felicia is all: "Oh dear, we didn't order that much, did we?" and Maikel just side eyes the two of them but he's all: "You know how expensive these places are. It was probably that water refill I asked for-"

LISA AND ANGELO'S DATES ARE KIND OF EXPECTED TO GO OFF THE RAILS. That's why Lisa likes them because they're so fun and exciting. They're driving to see Wicked or something in Angelo's convertible and Lisa sees a black car following them and she hums softly: "Oh dear, looks like we have company~" and Angelo is all: "Lisa, I'm DRIVING. You handle it." and she nods before she's all: "...Did you move my gun from the glove box?"/ Angelo: :"How would I know where YOUR gun is?"/ Lisa: "Because you're very insensitive and like to move my things around without asking. Like that one time I washed my face with handsoap and not moisturizer!"/ Angelo: "HOW IS IT MY FAULT YOUR MOISTURIZER LOOKS LIKE HANDSOAP!?" and Lisa scoffs: "AH-HAH. It was in the side pocket here!"/ Angelo: "Now that you mention it, I probably did put it there when I was cleaning your car-" And Lisa pouts but when the car behind them starts shooting. Lisa sitting up and Angelo uses one hand to hold her skirt down so it doesn't blow up from the wind as she shoots the two front tires of the car.

WARDEN IS A WANTED MAN, that's why his house and his dates take place in Star City. LIKE HE STILL WORKS IN GOTHAM, but he knows that if he was ever out in the open, criminals of all sorts would want to jump him. Which is fine, he can handle them, but he'd prefer Ronan and their dogs out of harms way.

We talk about simp Tommy but we don't talk enough about simp Martha because her dad is LITERALLY Bruce Wayne. Like, that man knew who Talia was simply because he could SMELL HER in his prescence so Martha being the same exact way and TBH, TOMMY BEING THE OBLIVIOUS ONE IN THEIR FRIENDS TO LOVERS BOND FOR THE LONGEST TIME WOULD BE SO FUNNY. LIKE, HE WAS IN LOVE WITH HER BUT HE WAS BLIND TO THE FACT SHE LOVED HIM BACK.

When they gave each other their first kiss, Martha just blushing and giggling and Tommy is IN AGONY BECAUSE NOOOO, SHE'S A GOOD KISSER, HER BOYFRIEND IS GOING TO BE SO LUCKY and he'd tell one of his friends and they're all: "She kissed you because she wants YOU to be her boyfriend, DUMBASS." BUT YEAH, LITTLE MARTHA JUST BEING BORED AT GALAS and the other rich Gotham Rogue kids would just fight each other but when she saw Tommy, Bruce and Alfred sighed as she ran and jumped in his arms because they knew she was going to follow him all night (not that he minded). AND BACK WHEN SHE WAS WITH ANGELO, her and Tommy catching up and Tommy giving her a strained smile as Angelo stands next to her and glares down at Tommy and he's all: "I should probably go..." and she frowns and immediately walks after him because she is so used to following him around but Angelo grabs her wrist and he's all: "Martha, I think that's enough catching up." and when she was dancing with Angelo, her sneaking glances to find Tommy and her heart feels so heavy because all she wants is a fleeting glance of him.

Or Tommy just being away because he has to work and she just asks Bruce if she can go over to New York and "foster a good team dynamic between New Justice and AWOL, so HALT can't recruit AWOL as their allies" and Dick, Jason, Barbara, Alfred, and Kate all look at each other (These guys specifically because they're old enough to remember that Martha's been in love with Tommy since forever).

YOU CAN'T TELL ME DICK AND JASON WOULDN'T HAVE HAD BETS ON THEM EITHER. Like, they're at a gala together and Dick is all: "Sup, street rat. Where's Martha?" and Jason glares but rolls his eyes and points at where Martha and Tommy are. Tommy is talking and Martha is looking at him but she is NOT listening. Then Jason just scoffs, "I bet you that she's NEVER going to tell him." but Dick smirks and he responds: "I don't know, Martha kinda sucks at hiding secrets from people she loves. I think she's got it in her."

So then jump to Martha and Tommy during Tommy's Talon Arc and Tommy injured a LOT of her family and was going to kill Bruce but then Martha comes behind and hugs him and she says: "TOMMY, STOP! I LOVE YOU!" and ANGELO BEING THERE AND HE'S FUCKING PISSED, LISA JUST SMILING AND CHEERING MARTHA ON *as best as she can with her injuries* AND DICK JUST GIVES JASON AND SHIT EATING GRIN AND JASON BEING ALL: "Oh, fuck you, she's way too late, he's literally an undead killing machine!" but then Tommy drops his swords and turns around and hugs Martha and Jason frowns and sighs, "Yeah, okay, fine, you win-"

REMINDER: Tommy's dad had a Court of Owls mask specifically designed to control Tommy and Tommy only when he was a Talon. Tommy got the mask back and gave it to Lisa because he trusted her but Lisa coming back and she sees Angelo in her office and he's all: "Where is it?"

Lisa: "...Angelo, are you truly THAT much of a sore loser!?"

Angelo: "WHERE IS IT!? I frankly don't think you or your cousin can be trusted. I knew I should've reported it to Waller."

Lisa: "Are you KIDDING ME!? You didn't seem to care that much when he gave it to me the first time!"

Angelo: "LISA, HE COULD BE A DANGER TO MARTHA, NOW GIVE ME THAT MASK!"

and he puts his sword to her neck but he hears a click and Warden is behind him with a gun and Warden is all: "Nth metal bullets. Even your fancy angel magic can't stop one of these going into the back of your head. Now back away from her." and Angelo glares and he does and Lisa, completely composed, just smiles at him softly: "Angelo, you seem tense. Take a vacational leave." and Angelo frowns and he's all: "Lisa, I don't need-" but Lisa snaps her fingers and the Triplets show up with their staffs and she's all: "I wasn't asking. Leave unless you want every single agent in this building to make you."

and when she gets Angelo away, she contacts Tommy and she's all: "It's not safe with me anymore."

SO HE GIVES IT TO MARTHA. Like, THE ONE OBJECT THAT CAN COMPLETELY ENSLAVE HIM. THAT CAN ROB HIM OF HIS AUTONOMY AND MAKE HIM A FLAWLESS KILLING MACHINE WITH NO DESIRES OR MOTIVATIONS OF HIS OWN. He gives it to Martha because he trusts her to use it if he ever loses control or if he absolutely needs her too and Tommy is all: "Angelo won't hurt you to get to that mask, I'm sure of that...and I know you could never hurt me with it." and Martha holding it and she's all: "...Tommy, are you sure?" and he smiles and shrugs and he's all: "I mean, I'm hopelessly devoted to you anyways. The mask wouldn't make that much of a difference." and she smiles at him and kisses him and he kisses her back and stuff.

But Lisa just having brunch with Martha and she's all: "Quick thing before we start business; if I believe that you're unfit to have the mask, I will take it by force if I have too. I trust Tommy's choice so don't make me look like a fool, Martha-Dear~" and Martha nodding and stuff even though Lisa quite literally betrays Tommy on a regular basis-

In regards to the Martha post, Tommy wouldn't really know how to help. Mostly because he and Thomasin have hated each other since forever but he would never have wished DEATH on her and the fact Martha was the one to do it hurts because he wishes he had been there. While it's understandable if Martha takes a break from hero work, when she is forced/must take the cowl back, Tommy will give her a communicator. The moment she tries to contact him through it, he immediately forgets about SHIELD and focuses about getting back to Gotham. He can't let her tear herself apart more and he won't let it happen again, not to her.

Even though that are similarities between Tommy and Martha's situation, Tommy ultimately would be lost on what to do. He killed his father and didn't feel any remorse because his father killed him and then BASTARDIZED his body by bringing him back...but his Martha...his sweet Martha who feels more than she lets on, who hurts more than anyone knows, and whose burdens weigh on her like boulders that she shoulders by herself. Tommy doesn't like feeling far away from Martha, physically or even in the emotional sense, so he becomes worried when she becomes distant and her mind starts going to dark places. He'll hold her and be her shoulder to cry on, making Hmong dishes but also her own comfort foods to cheer her up but he knows it doesn't do much to ease the hurt but he tries so hard.

HOW CREEPY AND SAD WOULD IT BE IF TOMMY WOKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND HE SAW MARTHA WAS OUT OF BED AND SHE WAS JUST STANDING IN FRONT OF THE WAYNE FAMILY PORTRAIT JUST STARING AT THOMASIN? And Tommy gets flashbacks about how he'd wake up at the time of his death and stand at the top of the stairs, remembering the feeling of falling down them and dying. And he just tears up and hugs Martha from behind.

"My Martha...I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry." and thats all he says because he doesn't know how to comfort her aside from just being there. When Martha turns around and hugs him, Tommy just holding her tightly and promising to himself that now that she's no longer Bruce's daughter, she's Tommy Xiong's wife, and that he will protect her from pain like this as long as they both are alive and that he will share the burden with her just like how she shared his when he was hurting.

When Bruce tries to connect with her through Tommy, Tommy will immediately be all: "She'll come to YOU when she's ready, Bruce. Don't make it worse than it already is." and he is very protective of her. If Batfamily members try to reach out to her before she's ready? Tommy shuts that shit down really quick and promptly kicks them out of his house.

He might not have a joke to lighten the mood or the words that might make things alright but he can at least give Martha time and silence to mourn and grieve in peace.

Also, I was doing some research about, like, Attorney offices but imagine that Martha's mom had her own private office because some of the larger firms in Gotham are probably corrupt and stuff and Martha has so many memories of hanging out in her mom's office as her mom was going through reports and other things. SO IMAGINE THAT AFTER THEY GET MARRIED, Tommy just driving back to their house but he's all: "There's actually a wedding gift that I got you." and Martha just laughs and she tells him to stop spoiling her but then he stops by an old building that she recognizes and she's all: "...Tommy, why are we here?" and he opens her door and is all: "I thought we'd visit your mom's old office space." and Martha sighs and looks up at him: "Tommy, that's sweet but it was renovated into a therapists office or something last time I checked." and Tommy smiles and he's all: "Yeah, but did you check to see if maybe someone bought back?" and Martha just stares at him and he just can't help but smile softly at her before she says: "You didn't..." and Tommy shrugs and chuckles: "You're gonna have to check for yourself~" and Martha just tearing up but she runs into the building and stands in front of her old mother's office and sees that there's a door sign with her name on it and she just tears up and Tommy puts his hand on the small of her back.

Tommy: "Go in when you feel ready."

And she opens the door and walks inside and it looks so similar to how her mom had it arranged but Tommy obviously added more Gothic decor for her and he smiles when he sees how she's so touched and teary eyed. So he comes behind her to hug her waist and he kisses her shoulder.

Tommy: "I'll take care of all the payments and stuff- I KNOW YOU DON'T LIKE IT WHEN I BUY YOU THINGS but technically I'm using OUR money because we're married...I did buy this place a little before proposing to you, however-" and she turns around and hugs him and he smiles and hugs her back and he's all: "I'd do anything for you, Martha. Anything."

Lowkey, even though I do base Tommy off of younger Bruce, he is still his own character and is a lot more mature and serious than Bruce was at his age. Bruce respects his judgment and even though Tommy can be a bit too pragmatic at times, he does want to make things better for people. He's a loyal and trusted friend of the Batfamily and even when he was a kid, Bruce would watch as Tommy stood up to kids bigger and taller than him because they were bullying and he knew it wasn't right.

BUT ALSO, BRUCE AND TOMMY ARE THAT DAD-BOYFRIEND WHO LIKE EACH OTHER. Like, Martha is all: "Daaad, I'm heading to Tommy's." and Bruce is all: "Okay, tell him I said thank you for the mug that he got me." or when there's a football game, everyone in the batfamily just in the living room but Tommy and Bruce are the ones who are mostly passionate about the game and just cheering. Or like, if Martha is going on a mission that could possibly be dangerous, Bruce is all: "I don't know..." but then Martha says: "Tommy will be there." and then Bruce is all: "Oh, okay, as long as Tommy's there-"
