Sunday at Dua

Adding this place to one of my favorite coffee shops in South Jakarta! My friends and I ordered ice lemon tea, ice peach tea, flat white, aglio olio with prawn, nasi goreng tektek and fish & chips.

The drinks are good and refreshing. The foods are delicious and the portion is pretty big for me and my friends. What bugs me is they served the whole prawn unpeeled in my aglio olio and the fish in my friend's fish & chips is a bit too salty for my taste. However, it's worth the price! It's not expensive for us. As for the ambience, I could say it's comfy even the smoking area. Where do I start.

Lately, I have this obsession with healthy-organic food and drinks. Mainly drinks actually. 

As a proud Indonesian instead of buying cold pressed juice yesterday, I bought Kunyit Asam Jamu. All I know Jamu is traditional drinks and as honest as I am yes, Jamu doesn’t taste that good but it’s a traditional drink. That’s what our grandparents drink. What do you expect? 

Despite the taste, Jamu is nutritious and again, organic so it’s good for our body because these days I feel like what we consume is full of synthetic and chemicals ingredients. I personally think it’s good to let our body rest from all those artificial ingredients.

My main question is will my effort for being healthy will paid off? Yes I enjoy consuming these things but at the same time I still enjoying the unhealthy stuffs like, let’s say, those juicy meat on a burger or that melting cheese that makes everything taste better and then, I’m still too lazy to work out. 

But to make myself feel a little better, I used to obsessed with cupcakes and I used to eat it whenever I feel stressed (I’m an emotional eater) but now, when I crave something sweet or stressed I would look for a cold pressed juice or overnights oats or some chia puddings.

It’s a step, yes?

From what I know Lifejuice is a cold pressed juice brand. They have their own app available on iOS and Android and you can buy their juices from the app.

Salad in a Bottle by Lifejuice.

I do love green juice. I’m not a 100% healthy person but I’m trying to balance it all. Despite the unappealing green colour, it tastes AMAZING.

This green juice is a mixture of cucumber, spinach, parsley, cos, celery, green apple, jícama and lemon.

Living in South Jakarta makes me think South Jakarta is the best region of Jakarta. South Jakarta is full of creative, independent, straightforward and bold people. 

This coffee shop in Cipete Raya, South Jakarta named “Tuku” succeeded in making me curious about their coffee. I admire their marketing plan or whatever they did to make their coffee is the “happening” coffee in town. Some of my friends lined up just to get this IDR 18k glass of coffee. Some people said it’s “the best coffee ever”. 

On one afternoon I scrolled around my Instagram and a lot of my friends and their friends posted about this coffee. Being a curious person that I am, I want to know, is this coffee worth the hype? My answer is yes. It’s cheap and it tastes good. I like it, so it is a yes. Once again I am amazed by how Tuku spread the words about their coffee.

As a Public Relations student, I like to think these kind of things. I like to think and learn about how a brand/company can succeeded in making people like their products and even their brands. It’s like people making their brand/company as a part of their lifestyle.

And someday, in the future I would like to be that person who can create people’s perspective the way I want them too.

Rice + Sambal + Indonesian Jerked Meat (Dendeng)

Easy meal for somebody who doesn’t know how to cook. I bought the sambal (that chili thing) and the “meat” in a supermarket and you don’t have to heat it or anything. Just eat it straight all you need is a hot rice and you will no longer starve.
