It makes me so angry that Abel and Saint Peter are blond and pale in Hazbin. Like hello????? They should be people of color. You know, since Saint Peter was an Israeli, Jewish Middle Eastern man. And Abel was literally the second man. Especially if Vivienne is claiming it's an inclusive show.

The worst part is there are SO MANY European saints (Saint Joan of Arc my beloved) and so many who had blond hair and pale skin if you wanna go for a soft look but NO. I really like how night at the museum drew Joan of Arc with blond hair and I think it'd look good in Hazbin

It's obvious the creators don't really have the best or even accurate view of Christianity (Who knows if they even did research that wasn't based on their childhood memories with Protestantism or Baptism. I can tell none of them ae Catholic because hello, purgatory??? The shows plot falls apart so easily when you remember that one silly little thing a lot of Christian believe in), and it not only worsens their writing and makes it seem like white washing, but it's also just really lame. thinking about soul eater again and i realized, “wow, soul eater’s one of the only shonen i’ve heard about that has multiple female characters that are fleshed out and three dimensional.” then, after that thought, i had another realization where, “WOW, SOUL EATER’S THE ONLY SHONEN I CAN THINK OF WHO’S CENTRAL PROTAGONIST IS A WOMAN.”

soul eater is an entire anomaly! because the women are well written, it’s a shonen who’s central protagonist that the narrative centers around is a woman, romance is not a focal point for these women’s arcs, and THE ANIME IS JUST...OBJECTIVELY MOSTLY BETTER THAN THE MANGA (the manga has oversexualization of teenage girls, fucking cursed ass genderbent chapter, along with fucking killing crona which sucks and i refuse to acknowledge i feel like the anime ending is just BETTER, but it is a shame that the kid x black star moments didn’t get into the anime). it has plenty of flaws but i literally cannot think of another shonen like it, much less an anime.

anyways watch soul eater, instead of hating on female characters in shonen who are poorly characterized criticize the creators for not fucking WRITING THEM WELL, realize that maka albarn is literally not a mary sue holy shit how many times do i have to say it, and just generally get better taste bye
