MY ISLAND IS ON FIRE!
This can’t be happening! In only seven days -a week-, we’ve got THREE DELIBERATE WILDFIRES so far, one after another.
I live in this beautiful island called Gran Canaria, in Canary Islands, Spain. The thing is that there’s a massive lack of resources and means to fight fire here. We don’t have seaplanes and the stupid protocol says that the goverment won’t send seaplanes from others Spanish autonomous communities until 24 hours have elapsed after the wildfire has been declared.
Guess what? The last wildfire has become uncontrollable by now because of high trees, high temperature and strong winds, and IT’S DEVOURING A BIOSPHERE RESERVE, the heart of the island: Tamadaba. It’s an autochthonous pine natural park, and authorities have already given it up for lost.

My heart goes to all the people fighting against the fire -like those firefighters risking their lives in the vid. And I hope the crazy asshole that started it all PAY DEARLY!!
