I was born in the woods Videoloop, Installation, 9 minutes, 2014 Concept and realisation: Tamara Stajner I was born in the woods is a videoloop to be watched in the instant replay modus. The title refers to the wood with which the viola is made. Through the seemingly simple gesture of cleaning the viola, a relationship is being explored between the artist and the instrument. Tamara Stajner understands the body of viola as an extension of her own. The video reveals a deep emotional bonding between the artist and her instrument. The instrument is not a lifeless object. There is non-verbal, non-musical exchange between the two bodies, the human and the wooden one; it is abstract, erotic, bizarre and deciduous.
