Mr T’s Baked Goods & Bakery. Aunty Janet was so keen to try out Mr T’s in Onehunga she went there a day earlier. Uncle told her she needed to up her intake of ginkgo nuts to boost her memory. So today it’s round 2. We chose from the Vietnamese half of the menu. Aunty had the Tamarjnd Tofu Salad with a side mushroom. She was surprising refused her request for the mushroom add on, being told that it can only added with a main. So the Tofu Salad is not a main then, ffs? But Aunty is persistent and asked for the mushrooms after she had finished her tofu salad, and this time it was grudgingly served. The rot had started. Uncle had the Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng - grilled marinated Freedom Farm Pork, pickled daikon, carrot, cucumber, handmade chicken liver pate, coriander & chilli, all in a homemade Vietnamese baguette. For afters, Aunty had an delectable apple strudel and a hot cross bun for him. The HXB was too doughy. Aunty said she’s in no hurry to go back to Mr T’s. I sympathise with her stance. Service today was perfunctory and lacked warmth and interest in the well-being of the punter. The menu disclaimer “we will do our best to accommodate your needs” rings hollow as some of us need to clarify our dietary requirements. Mr T’s has excellent pedigree. Shame about today. #tamarindtofu #salad #banhmithitnuong #applestrudel #hotcrossbun #mr_ts #vietnamese #onehunga (at Mr. T's) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwGtWqGBWLq/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1r0hhru2gk0j7
