Been feeling better about my job situation today, so here's some not so fun teaching moments from my *previous* job to remind me things could be worse
I had one student who was obsessed with both Tony Ferguson and Andrew Tate, and I stand by this kid being one of the most disgusting human beings I've ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. I genuinely fear for the women in his life.
There was a rumor started that I was a lesbian, which wouldn't have been a big deal had I not been working at a CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL.
However, despite supposedly being a lesbian (not bi, not pan - afaik specifically lesbian according to these twits) I was cheating on my male fiance with the male math teacher.
Another rumor that I was sexist towards the male students at my school. This was propagated by student in bullet point 1.
My boss was an older woman on the verges of senility who yelled at the entire student body in the middle of the second year of covid because she had a dream she wasn't being hard enough on them.

My parents were so worried about college introducing me to feminism, but nothing has radicalized me more than watching my best friend's toxic relationship with both her husband and father.
Absolutely nothing has done more for shaping my views that watching what happens when men run amok and women blame each other instead of realizing the problems are the cheating men in their families.
I love when mawmaws and pawpaws compliment my clothes because they come up with the most outlandish words for things I've ever heard.
We talk a lot about AI and over-dependence on technology in schools, but I also want to say that sometimes the curriculum is just stupid.
For example? My students were asked questions about graphic organizers on a grammar test instead of questions about subjects and verbs.
