Entry 704: The Tandarans
Home World: Tandar Prime
Occupation: Occasionally-recurring alien jailers and Suliban enemies
First Appearance: "Detained" (ENT, 2002)
Summary: These humanoids were among the first and most frequent victims of the Suliban Cabal when it began its attacks in the mid-22nd century. While the Tandarans were known for being generally peaceful and polite, hostilities began to spring up among them against the Suliban settlers living in their territory. For their "own protection" (a claim that was not without merit, as there had been increasing attacks against innocent Suliban in the Tandar Sector), the Tandarans began placing all Suliban in their territory in detention complexes. While this was advertised as a "temporary measure", most Suliban were locked away for several years. On occasion, they would also attack vessels that got too close to their detention centers, detaining their crew and testing them to ensure they weren't disguised Suliban. While most of the aliens were freed in due time, the Tandarans generally redirected all complaints against them to an impenetrable bureaucracy of their own design.
