Here’s the late Miss Tandi Iman Dupree (star of one of my fave @YouTube clips) doing her now-legendary performance, to #BonnieTyler's "I Need a Hero” – at the 2001 #MissGayBlackAmerica pageant. Hers is easily one of the greatest stage entrances of all time; and she kept the energy going (including being hurled across the stage – and landing in the splits - all while lip-syncing!) until the end of her performance, whence her limp body was literally dragged off the stage.
