USA 1987
PC Magazine September 15, 1987
The exciting subject of business management software was this issue’s special focus; in place of Tandy’s new low-end-targeted Tandy 1000s, PC Magazine was able to preview its comparatively inexpensive 80386-powered computer.

Family & Home Office Computing March 1988
How to sort out a best option from the ever-developing “IBM compatibles” (with the promise of OS/2 still glimmering on the horizon) was featured in this issue.
BYTE October 1987
Tandy’s entire lineup of new computers, and its laser printer, were shown off on this issue’s cover. Inside, it also previewed the “Canon Cat,” designed by Jef Raskin, who had started the project at Apple code-named “Macintosh” before Steve Jobs, kicked out of the Lisa project, pushed his way in and changed it to adopt a graphical user interface. (You repositioned the insertion point on a Canon Cat not with a mouse or even with arrow keys, but by forever searching back and forth for specific strings of characters.) The issue did also review the Macintosh II and include themed articles on “heuristic algorithms,” which some science fiction fans might recognize as the technology underpinning HAL 9000.
