Day 3 - Long Distance
Fu Wenduo hadn't wanted Tang Mo to go alone, but Fu Wenduo had his own things he needed to do, and he couldn't accompany him.
Which lead to their current situation.
Fu wenduo, who had stayed in Shanghai to work with Luo Fengcheng on more studies of the tower and it's games, and Tang Mo, who was in Kunming, and had gone over there for... reasons. Fu Wenduo didn't know, Tang Mo hadn't told him. Tang Mo... wasn't really the sort of person to tell others his plans. Unfortunately, 'others' included Fu Wenduo.
(Not because he didn't trust him! Tang Mo had already previously explained to Fu Wenduo that he simply could not risk people overhearing him, which Fu Wenduo could understand.)
But anyway, Shanghai and Kunming just so happened to be in very different directions. Shanghai being on the very east side of China, and Kunming being in the very south (you know, just in case you don't know the geography of China.).
And yes, they were still in the same country, but China was large and they were miles apart, and Fu Wenduo wasn't particularly happy about being miles apart from Tang Mo.
Luckily, they still had MOMO. The egg, not the person, obviously. (Not that Fu Wenduo ever called Tang Mo 'Momo'. Especially not after their first interaction over the egg.)
Fu Wenduo tapped the egg three times.
"Fu Wenduo?" called Tang Mo.
"Tang Mo."
Fu Wenduo didn't speak further, only now realising he didn't actually know what to talk about.
There were a few seconds of silence from the other end, before Tang Mo spoke once again.
"You called because you miss me, don't you?"
Fu Wenduo couldn't see Tang Mo's face, but he knew him well enough to know what expression he would be sporting right now.
Tang Mo was not smiling. Fu Wenduo knew him well enough to know that. Tang Mo wasn't the most expressive person on Earth, and only really showed emotion in moments of shock or desperation.
But nonetheless, Fu Wenduo knew that Tang Mo was happy to hear from him.
"...Yes."
"I miss you too. But I won't be gone for that long."
"2 weeks is a long time without you."
"Then we'll just have to use MOMO every day then, right? I want to hear from you every day."
Fu Wenduo's heart skipped a beat because he was a schoolgirl in love, except he wasn't in school and he wasn't a girl. So he wasn't really at all a schoolgirl in love. He was just a Fu Wenduo in love.
A smile graced Fu Wenduo's features.
"Every day. Promise me. No skipping days."
"Of course not. I promise."

It had been 24 hours since Tang Mo had left Shanghai for Kunming.
24 hours and Tang Mo was already missing Fu Wenduo's presence.
Which is why he was so happy when he called.
He didn't show it on his face, of course. That simply wasn't the type of person he was. But Tang Mo's outwardly stoic demeanor was very misleading.
Tang Mo, after all, was very, very gay. And when a guy like Fu Wenduo seeks you out, calls you with a prop only the two of you have, when he blesses you with the experience of letting you listen to his deep, steady voice say your name-
Well. Then you'd be gay panicking too.
Tang Mo didn't particularly want to leave Fu Wenduo for two weeks either. But it was important and so he had to go.
Life did tend to cause a lot of inconveniences for him.
At least Fu Wenduo made it all better.
So when Tang Mo promised Fu Wenduo to call every day for the next two weeks, he knew he would keep that promise. Even if he entered a game.
You see, nothing got in between Fu Wenduo and Tang Mo.

Totally not late again~
If you think this is riddled with plot holes and characters being OOC, then yet it is, and yes they are. In my defence, I am still reading The Earth Is Online, and I'm only on Chapter 53 so I've met Fu Wenduo a grand total of like 8 times. So he's not exactly a character I know well. (I'm also really fucking tired so I cannot be bothered to fix anything 😭)
Genuinely, writing this was such a struggle because Tang Mo and Fu Wenduo are pretty much just 😐😐 all the time. I genuinely do not know how to write how utterly in love with each other they are, while still keeping them in their 😐😐 state.

the way he can process information and make connections so quickly, the way he's always great at adapting his way of thinking and doesn't hesitate to change his conclusions when new information comes to light,,, (and the way he can use that to make others believe he knows everything when he's literally hearing about stuff for the first time and doesn't know shit? incredible)
