Out of Bdubs, Etho, and Tango, Bdubs is the one who resembles a human the most, even if he isn’t one entirely. Sure his eyes might be a little larger than usual, but that’s about it.
Tango and Etho, meanwhile, are quite different. Both can look human-ish enough, but the forms they’re comfortable in very much aren’t. It took all three of them a bit to get used to everything, but they make it work. They didn’t exactly know how nonhuman the others were at the start of their relationship, and they still learn new things about each other all the time.
One time, when their relationship was still pretty new, Bdubs had joined Tango on the couch to cuddle. He hadn’t been expecting to suddenly feel two sets of arms wrapping around him, but that was surprisingly easy to get used to, and it makes for nice hugs.
The first time Etho had taken his mask off around Tango and Bdubs, it had been while they were discussing how they felt about kissing. Etho had mentioned being curious about what it’d be like to be kissed more directly, instead of just through his mask, but he did warn his partners that he wouldn’t be able to kiss back.
Tango and Bdubs were fine with that, even though they hadn’t been expecting the reason to be that Etho had a gaping hole in his face instead of a mouth. They still don’t know where Etho’s real mouth is, if he even has one.
But over the years they’ve all gotten used to each other, and Bdubs loves every bit of his partners, whether those bits be tails, wings, weird eyes, sharp teeth, or whatever else makes Tango and Etho who they are.
Bdubs also considers himself lucky to have seen both of his partner’s true forms, even if he’s only actually seen Etho’s twice.
Tango returns to his true form every now and again, and despite being made of pure fire he doesn’t burn, and Bdubs will gladly cuddle up to him when it’s getting too cold. Etho’s true form is a bit more incomprehensible, and can be harsh on the eyes if you were to look at it for too long, but Bdubs still hopes that he’ll be able to see it again some day, even if the only detail he can really remember is the strange glitchiness of it.
It's already, Bdubs can get them back! He just has to look at them really hard with his big ol' eyes. Etho normally finds it cute and Bdubs gets a headpat and nuzzle (easier than kissing without a conventional mouth.) Tango startles like he's just seen an alien, which is even better.
Every time he turns around. Bdubs is there. Staring. This is what he gets for burning Bdubs' favourite apron by 'accident' (they all know that's not true...)
